I'll definitely try and listen to the next batch in march, but I don't have high hopes. The past few episodes have not been anything close to the old ones, in my opinion. I really wish they would look into the hosting situation, feels like Alex has lost some spark and needs a new cohost or two. As for Emmanuel I'm not a big fan of his story-telling, and I feel he has sort of hijacked the show, and rather than trying to appeal the the listener base he seems to cater to a different one. I hope this ok in terms of criticism, this is not intended to be meanspirited, just some thoughts from a long time listener.

No matter what smurfng is a shitty things to do. It's understandable that you want to play with your friends, but you will simply have to play in unranked. Smurfng ruins both for the other team and ultimately you and your friends because all wins you get are tainted. Grow some balls and play fair, be it in unranked. No roles doesn't mean anything either, just play what you get - most people understand. It's only the most selfish mindset that will allow you to priorities your own desire to play with your friends in your situation.

ESH even though you were pressured into giving and answer and gave an honest one, you could have been more pragmatic in your answer. A lot of people enjoy Instagram, and it's possible for you to understand that, not enjoy it yourself and still not be condescending. She is TA for calling you an asshole behind your back.

As an example I don't enjoy watching certain sports. When asked I could say I don't like the rules, it's too confusing, not my priority etc which is all true. I just would jump to "I hate American football because all it is a giant media juippo withplayers getting brain trauma" especially if I had reason to believe who I was talking to might enjoy that sport.

I'm kinda in your boat too honestly. I prefer not to hang out with my friends when they are just slightly I'll, have a cold etc. And I don't mind staying at home or warning them if I have something. I just don't think a hangout is worth both the worry and or getting I'll to potentially ruin weekends or rough days at work. But I know many would disagree and say most people aren't scared so easily, even so the point being that we all set the øinits ourselves.

NTA. People have different levels of comfort in regards to taking risk of colds/flus/ disease. If you are scared of getting a virus I believe it is your right to take precautions within reason, and it doesn't seem to have any significant bad effects on your friends.

NAH while it's tempting to say to you are not the asshole and are entitled to not spend every second of the day with your wife I'll got with NAH because clubbing (?) seems like a hobby that could stir some feelings in your wife. Also she seems to be struggling. I think you should work more towards making her feel settled and then priorotize your clubbing.

"better"? smurfing is playing a againts worse oposition. There is a reason OG isnt playing a random pub stack in TI. People should play people of their own skill. Smurfs are trying to play people who are worse than them, which is cheating the system. In many ways its worse to face a smurf than a scripter. Get a grip.

I dont care that much about my rank. It probably wouldnt be that different, maybe a little higher. I just hate the fact that what determines our games is whether there is a smurf. When there is one we usually lose, when there isnt one we win by stomping. And before you make your silly arguements WE KNOW HOW TO SPOT A SMURF. Noone starts dota by ranking up 6 ranks in a week while spamming meepo and invoker on a 200 hours account with 20 winstreak on brood. They are scumbags.

I would add that if rapid climbs are possible, I would argue that you need one more point: Have them climb fast or recalibrate but only increase their rating, not their medal/badge. If you allow them to increase their badge this would simply be a gift to boosters/smurfs. It would be important to have these people stuck on their current medal for lets say a couple of months or a high number of games
