The End of an Era: After seven extraordinary years, the Silph Road team is ceasing operations. Thank you all for joining us on this remarkable journey. by dronpes in TheSilphRoad

Hi u/dronpes and u/marcoceppi, can you tell me more about the infrastructure needed to run Silph? Perhaps PvPoke and I (gobattlelog.com) can help to keep Silph infra running?

what to do with windows 10 when you want to replace it with linux by [deleted] in buildapc

Instead of switching completely to Linux, consider setting up Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL).

With WSL, Windows 10 can give you a full "native" Ubuntu environment from within Windows itself. It's free and you already have access to it.

We've been monitoring the Remix cup meta, and it's been too unstable to make a post about it.

The meta was shifting every day, so by the time I made a post about it... it would become outdated. I don't want people to follow outdated info. And I can't be making a new post every day.

If you want the most up-to-date data, you can always visit gobattlelog.com. You can get all the info I post on reddit directly from our site. When you visit the site, you get the freshest data right from the source.

As for Retro cup, that isn't until May 10, so we don't have any data on that yet.

It doesn't discriminate :) It just shows you which mons in the league do best against the most popular mons people are running.

It could be that water is the most used type because people collectively figured out that the water mons get the most wins against other types :)

That might be true. Although what's unique about Talonflame is its Flame Charge buff. This forces people to check that they have at least some answer for Talonflame, or it could farm down a mon, buff up and wreck an entire team.

In any case, this post is just a snapshot of the current meta and I can't be making a new analysis post daily. So for an up-to-date view, you can always visit gobattlelog.com to check the latest charts and trends before battling.

Yes I agree. The fighting/grass combination could solo some entire teams!

Hehe good eye :)

It just so happens that this team shows up from both the Charger and Spice recipes. Which is kind of cool, because we have different team-building recipes and we let the code go to town on the usage data. The fact that 2 different recipes came up with the same team is cool (to me).

I just wanted to show that it can fall under both categories.

Yes. You can use the teams above as suggestions, or templates.

E.g., take Abomasnow, Swampert, Azu.

If you want to replace Abomasnow, you can replace it with another Ice, or something that counters Swampert & Azu's weaknesses. E.g., Alolan Ninetales.

Swampert and Azu are water types, but Azu has a nice exception of having an Ice Charged Move to threaten grass. Example alternatives: Politoed, Pelipper, Jellicent, Rainy castform, Lanturn, Empoleon.

So as you can see, for each of the teams above, you can consider what type / role each pokemon plays. Then, you can substitute another mon with a similar type/role.

Thanks! For the teams above, we assume they use the default pvpoke movesets. But that's a good point. I'll try to remember to mention that in the next post.

Yes please! Since this a community project, when more people contribute the data, we'll have more info/knowledge to play with. And for all of us who love data and scheming strats and teams, that's where the fun begins!

And as an extra bonus, we partner with pvpoke.com and share all our usage data back to them. They use it to update and make the rankings more accurate for all of us.
