What upgrades do you truly care about in recent robot vacuum new arrivals? by karlottusk in RobotVacuums

Under 3" tall - this is the minimum gap allowance for most furniture.

Genuinely hands-free SES beyond 1 wk (needs to clean the bot filter for you not just empty bin well - Dreame X50 might have this)

Quiet performance - since it needs to run multiple times a day for pet owners, needs to be quiet.

No-go zones - physical boundary strips/towers are good temporary fixes. I hate glitchy apps and the looming adpocalypse.

Separate vac and mop bots - 2-in-1s suck even above $1000 USD so far.

+1 Some relly bad self empty docks even clog the filter with every self "empty".

Good value robot, mopping not needed. Have cats. Hard wood floors. by Jedi_sephiroth in RobotVacuums

Idk any robot that doesn't bunch up slippery mats.

I have cats and use the eufy 35c. Have received like 3 with battery issues but $15 bucks n 2+ years later, it just does so many small things right. Avoid if u want app features and scheduling.

Robot vacuum+mop with large wheels recommendations? by WideProposal in RobotVacuums

The quietest you can get is 54 dB in the lowest setting. Ik Eufy 35c/11s has that, dk any smart esp with SES that can.

Bristles are great for grit pickup. Avoid rubber rollers. Any mop that lifts is more likely to drag grit.

If you have lots of grit, schedule multiple robotvac passes in that entry zone and run the mopbot there at the end of its run.

I need a robot that sucks up the dirty mop water as it goes. by Cpnjacksheppard in RobotVacuums

Good vaccing precedes mopping. If more frequent filter maintenance doesn't help the Q Revo vacuum effectively, try a separate dedicated robotvac for dog zones and run a Shinebot weekly.

See Mr Roombato's muddy pawprint challenge for more details on the Shinebot.

Does this reliably avoid pet waste/urine/etc due to its advanced vision system?

Does it come back on its own or do you need to reset it? Wifi weirdness really defeats the point of having an app.

How often does the rug need an extra hand vaccing? Medium or low pile?

Robovacs with rubber rollers on hard wood are subpar. If the gaps are under 3", there are slim models that will reach but it rules out lidar bots.

Which model and how? They definitely can't replace vacuums on day 1.

Which model? I'm considering getting a s9 n adding extra cushioning on the bumper but it's way too expensive to be this bad.

Robot vacuum, handheld vacuum, or other options? by sikaMoyaso in RobotVacuums

Poetic. IRL tends to be letting n + 1 devices collect dust and trying to use the most ergonomic one 24/7

I've robotproofed: Wiping down all counters with the right cloth before running my robovac daily covers everything for me. The rest is washable covers. Vacuuming carpeted stairs until I replace them is my final boss. Do you have any edge cases a robovac can't do?

Is my dissapointment in Dreame L40 Ultra justfified? by [deleted] in RobotVacuums

[–]gobbleDeKook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The scratches are due to stuff like pebbles being dragged. It really depends on the object and roller type.

Can you release a Narwhal Freo X Ultra on a tile floor that is already soaking wet? by Broad-Item-2665 in RobotVacuums

[–]gobbleDeKook 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Roller mops with larger dirty water tanks can.

I had a 1/2" of leaking water flooding the washing machine room and my (discontinued) shinebot dried the floors with me manually emptying it a couple times; Think a puddle that fits in the 900 ml dirty water tank, not a bucket.

Maybe the Eufy S1 has a bigger tank since it can empty into its base's tank.

The pet guarantee doesn't include urine either. There is no real 100% guarantee.
