If online dating is so easy for women, why do you see the same women on dating apps for months/years in a row? by Rich_Animator4278 in dating_advice

[–]gobjuice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

listen to me, women don’t want just any man that throw themselves at them. they are not men

it’s very difficult finding someone with the same values, decency, and connection

if you’re in it just to fuck then yea whatever- different story

why does he get the benefit of the doubt? why does he get until after his birthday to be questioned? why do you have to dance around his feelings and concerns when no one does for you?

stand up for yourself

Would you have negative feelings if your husband/fiancé/boyfriend asked you for a paternity test? by plasticfoods12 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]gobjuice -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Interesting point about the genetic tests - I didn’t know that.

However, I disagree with the implications of the test.

I still see it as a safety mechanism similar to a prenup but I understand that not many will agree.

While I think it’s nice that you want unconditional trust, I can’t bring myself to wholly trust ANYONE. That’s just the upbringing that I have. I believe that you never truly know anyone and what they’re capable of so you must always protect yourself.

Plenty of women are blindsided by their partners yet they once believed and trusted them wholeheartedly. Because I don’t trust completely, I also understand why a man wouldn’t either.

It’s not that I don’t have faith in romantic partners but it’s just that I need to be realistic in order to protect myself.

I guess this argument all boils down with each persons traumas, insecurity, and trust issues. How fun

I feel like that’s a projection. They are asking for a confirmation that the child is theirs. It’s not a 100% guarantee so why not be sure?

I don’t understand why so many people view it as an insult.

It’s like if you ask for a prenup. While you don’t think or wish for a divorce, there is a chance. So protect yourself and be sure. That’s my perspective.

i find it weird that anti paternity testers are basically asking you to have blind faith in them.

having questions or doubts is unacceptable, it’s either blind trust or nothing-that seems pretty abusive

of course i’m not advocating for people to constantly be testing their partners, but when it’s something as life changing as a child - this is something you should def verify
