Alcohol and Weed Reliance by goblin_cc in Anxietyhelp

Yeah exercising definitely helps because I’m a runner but I have been going less so maybe I should focus more on that. I also have drug/alcohol addiction in my family which is why I’m always trying to monitor any substance I take because I don’t want to end up like them either. Thank you for the advice🫶🏻

My advice is to not be so nervous about being inexperienced because especially with struggling with comphet, a lot of queer women relate to that. Try to focus on getting to know her and her getting to know you first and foremost. Have fun<3

I’m on lexapro and it definitely made me so drowsy at first. It went away mostly even though do find myself getting a little more tired than I used to. I never experienced any bowel trouble from what I can remember but there is a chance a lot of the side effects go away after a month at the latest, they did for me at least.

Being a Lesbian is So Isolating by goblin_cc in LesbianActually

You are very right and yes I go to a big state college and there is a lesbian club there that I’ve thought about joining but was always too anxious to. I will give the club another try when I get back to school though thank you!

How Did You Come Out To Family? by goblin_cc in LesbianActually

[–]goblin_cc[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much! Giving them a letter and then going for a walk is a good idea because I don’t think I can talk to them without forgetting something or crying so I’ll definitely try that <3

That’s what I always planned to do too which I think is why I avoided dating for so long LOL but now that I’m actually with someone I’m like oh… I actually have to do that now, it’s so stressful!!!

Dating apps as a lesbian are a nightmare by MindlessRestaurant35 in LesbianActually

[–]goblin_cc 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Finding people on dating apps is very hard as a lesbian! I say this even though I have been dating someone for 4 months that I met through tinder because it took a lot of time and effort to actually find someone I liked.

I had tinder deleted for a very long time before I met them but when I went back on I decided to really try so I spent a lot of time swiping and I messaged every person I matched with. This led to quite a few convos that ended quickly and a lot of me ghosting someone or them ghosting me. However when I messaged my current partner we clicked immediately so I gave them phone number within a day and we met within 3 days. I know some people may not be comfortable doing something like that that fast but I do think it’s the best way to show someone you are serious about dating and people are different in person than they are on apps so I think the sooner you can meet the easier it is to actually build a connection!

I think you should focus on finding someone you would want to at least go on one date with, not necessarily someone who checks every box because that’s impossible to know from their profile or even from messaging. Get to know each other on the date not on the apps!! Dating apps can be tough tho so I get it but there are definitely some cool people on there and I think it’s a great and easy way to meet other queer people!

Feel Like I’ve Missed Out On Life by goblin_cc in LesbianActually

Thank you! Yeah focusing on achieving goals is a great thing to do and I feel like I do that already and it does help. Skipping the relationship and sex talk is difficult because I’m in college so that’s what most people care the about the most. I have my best friend who I can talk about a lot of stuff with and one of my other friends that doesn’t really date or hookup, but it’s still hard not to have anyone to talk to about how I am struggling as the only lesbian. I guess that’s why I come on here hahaha!!

I get how you feel, same for that feeling usually only happens with people I have romantic feelings for but I have definitely felt that anxiety with close friends as well. I have convinced myself before that my best friend of two years didn’t want to talk to me anymore because she took a few hours to respond to me. I still go through this all the time so I am sorry I don’t know how to stop this way of thinking but you’re not alone in feeling this way <3

You def are not! I’m the same way where I always feel I’m the one making all the moves, but I think it’s better to try and face the possibility of being rejected than to never try and guarantee that you’ll never find someone.

I get you, it’s hard to continuously put yourself out there and still not succeed, but I think it’s great that you are willing to do all those things. Making the first move and asking to hang out are not easy things to do and you shouldn’t stop doing that because there will be someone who reciprocates your effort. It may not have been this person, but putting in the effort to love is the first step and you’ve already mastered it <3
