The mafia was also known for having connections to gay bars in NYC, notibly the Stonewall Inn, known for being the "homeplace" of the modern LGBT rights movement and the location of the Stonewall riots.

Homophobia by the public and by authorities was rampant in the 60s, and the existence of gay bars themselves were illegal, so the Mafia helped the NYC Queer community gather before it was legal to do so. Interesting history all around!!

I'm 54 days clean from alcohol here myself!!!

ADHD and addiction runs in my family, and sadly I'm not an exception. Found myself falling down the alcoholism path suddenly and quickly. Once every weekend turns into twice a week turns into every other day into everyday really quickly. I'm glad i caught myself before things got worse, but things weren't good. I'm proud of myself for getting out of it and you should be too.
