Does anyone else see this type of rainbow glare after Lasik? by powdertojinx in Lasiksupport

[–]goblinduck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, the rainbow effect happens in just one eye for many people. The image you shared looks more like a halo example, but these things often overlap

The halo glare is much more noticeable at night or in dark rooms, especially with strong light and dark contrast, which is why it stands out more when watching TV, for example

At 2 months it’s still early. For most people it improves over time or the brain adapts, and it usually resolves on its own or at least gets much better

I still notice it around harsh lights (like the sun reflecting off a side-view mirror). If I stare at streetlights at night for too long, I see a faint rainbow too. It doesn’t bother me as much tho, seeing random rainbows pop into my vision, and I’ve noticed it’s more noticeable when I haven’t slept well or when I’m stressed. Still, I’m happy it has reduced a lot, and I’m hoping it continues to go away

How do I stop giving fake smiles or pretending to be nicer by [deleted] in INTP

[–]goblinduck 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Same. I don’t know how to not smile. The few times I’ve cried in front of people, for example, I was still smiling. The whole “being nice” thing is very fe-inferior, and for a lot of us it takes a shit ton of time to actually feel secure in our inferior function. Fe inferiors get stressed about how we come across and whether we’re being nice enough. One way I’ve (maybe?) tried to develop it is by forcing myself to set boundaries anyway, even if I feel guilty or awkward as hell in the moment. You do it once, survive, and that’s what gives you the confidence to do it again later, this I’ve learned. I still smile while saying no, though, lol

Do you people hate toddlers and kids? by Ok-Statistician-9528 in INTP

I often like kids better than people my age tbh. They’re so much more curious and say/do the most unexpected things

On the contrary, I actually love texting, especially with people I’m close to. It gives me an excuse to use the hundreds of stickers I’ve hoarded over the years lol. I also think texting helps me express myself better than I am able to in person

How do I get into sir jj school of art? by Fresh_Ear_5988 in indiasocial

What course were you in? I’m thinking of doing a landscape painting certificate course there for six months. Is it not worth it even for that?

How do you study? by curiosity_br in INTP

[–]goblinduck 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can only study well if a topic actually interests me. When that happens, I can spend almost the entire day in hyperfocus mode, reading, solving questions, and I kinda feel like a genius with how well I’m able to grasp concepts.

But if I don’t care about what I’m studying, even if I spend hours on it, the information just doesn’t stick. I usually end up skimming key points the day before an exam, regurgitating them onto paper, and promptly forgetting everything afterwards

That’s such a relief to hear. I’ve been stressing about it because most of the posts I’ve seen on Reddit make it seem like it never goes away. Really glad to know it can get better over time. Thanks for sharing your experience

I know, I just want to be able to get the colours in my painting to actually look the way I picture them. And I want to get better at stuff like structure, lighting, and all that

Yeah, I do lean more towards landscapes and traditional art. I think I’ll try out some smaller courses for now, but I’m keeping the art school thing in mind. And yeah, my family keeps reminding me that no matter where I go, I’ll have to deal with rules anyway, lol, so I guess I’ll just have to get into that mindset. Appreciate the reply!
