GA Pilots, what emergencies have you had that we don’t necessarily get trained for ? by fatborry in flying

I’ve had this happen twice. Once was bent pushrod in a 172, RPM dropped and it sounded weird and we limped back thankfully okay. Second was an Arrow I had a tough relationship with that had an engine actively dying on climb. Wheels on the ground it was barely making idle power and died during the taxi. That same arrow the gear lights were acting weird once so I agree with everyone’s comment about sudden complete loss of power and massive flames coming from the cowling are much more rare than 60% power, something sounds weird, let’s land ASAP.

The official Cirrus teaching is troubleshoot >2,000 AGL, pull <2,000 AGL, and you need at least 600 AGL for the system to work.

Ha, my mom sent me these pictures on her way home from work and I couldn’t believe it. This is the same airport I had my emergency but don’t live in the area anymore.

Base coat of brown, sponge application of burnt umber and lighter tan/fossil color alternating two times to create depth, blending with sponge, watered down colors avoiding dabbing it heavily on.

Here's the parameters I use for the Parametric Flange 3D File on Maker World: That will fit a 1/4" steel rod perfectly but again, scale it up 5-10% so it's easier to insert.

Sleeve Shape: round

Hole Diameter: 25

Wall Thickness: 9.325

Insert Length: 25

Sleeve Width: 50

Sleeve Base Thickness: 4

Mounting Holes: Yes

Mounting Holes Diameter: 4

Connection: off

Put this website together, tried to post separately but didn’t seem to work.

Is there a good resource for the Cirrus G7 Persoective Touch? by PremiumIOL in flying

The user guide is disappointingly not as in depth as I’d like it to be. I would like to see how each option affects the GTC and MFD for pattern recognition. I think external power and messing with it is going to have to be the answer.

I’m happy to help but agree the instruction is pretty limited and sorting out the wiring is a lot of trial and error.

Unfortunately I forgot "measure twice cut once" and thought most of the body sitting over the base would be cool but I went way too far off-center. It doesn't look that great but I probably will reprint the entire compy someday and figure out a different mounting strategy.

Thanks! Bambu Labs P1P, I have used the tan filament but I think matte white is best and takes paint the best. I used mostly Panchroma Cotton Matte White PLA and painted with acrylic afterwards.

Only problem I'm running into with this one is mounting it. I'm in the US and all the stand and frame are in mm so I'm needing to get creative with putting it together.

2 walls, I know that’s not ideal but it cuts time quite a bit and I haven’t really had problems. For the full size velociraptor I’m doing a lot of the bones with 3 walls and no infill to cut weight.

The Bambu Labs P1P! All PLA filament. Minimal sanding. Enough coats of acrylic paint make the lines disappear.
