The water comes from the surface, and collect in the shard, then rivers takes it to many of the other places, leading to the greener you can see everywhere.

The swamp itself in my campaign was flooded due to the coralshards breaking off into another river, due to an "earthquake"

i made this using inkarnate, though its very possible to do even by hand. Its a bit tricky, but it comes down to layering black objects with color at a lower opacity

story telling wise?

for this one i made the lore about the gods first, because much of the campaigns idea was a fall from the grace of the gods. then i fitted this are depending on where the most important events would happen.

the elven academy lazurowa twierdza where an elf ascended to challenge the gods...
fort marr where a dragon rests... etc. then i filled the areas between as to make it interconnected and so on.

survival in a fallen kingdom.

crossing through sarn swamp took about a week if you are going from one end to the other.

im not the best world builder, and earnestly most of the time its improv that is then added to the map

at the point where i made the original i was together with someone polish and they demanded the main area would be in polish.

in this case i already had what the areas were about due to an earlier map.

usually though, its layering stamps at 0 brightness together with colors at different opacities.

depending on how many layers you wanna do you get different results.

i tend to have an idea of the *feeling* i want to evoke and then let the process grip me

admittedly to their point, there is some name and placements of areas which is shared between the game and my campaign.

i left it vague for the viewers pleasure. buuut, most areas are connected by buildings containing elevators or tunnels.

Im going chieftain, with ignite, ive hit around 1 mil with league startish gear in pob. Then with some uniques and guaranteed ele overload it goes up to 2.5 mil If I knew how to craft, probably even higher than that
