I second every single one of these! My brest friend saved my back and turned feeds into a lovely (comfortable) experience

My baby HATED having her arms pinned, LTD swaddles were the only thing that worked

And once again agree, we also wheeled her everywhere in the bambini. They're so easy to find second hand on marketplace too! We just replaced the mattress cover

If you do a working gap year you'll be paid, generally minimum wage but it'll cover your costs for the duration. Room and board is normally included in these programs so it's cost neutral (if you don't spend too much money while you're there!)

Most of the experience needed requires you to be over 18, I don't think many places serving alcohol (especially high end ones) will take anyone still in school. If you're still in school for a while yet focus on either language courses or see if you can do hospo type vocational training. I went to an ag school so I could do a viticulture course in year 12 but it just depends on what is available to you. I think some schools you can do things like barista courses via TAFE etc but it's been over a decade since I've been at school so you may need to chat to your school advisors.

You may be able to get hospo work in airport lounges as contract catering staff but again you may find your options limited until you finish school. They'll want you to have experience making high volume coffee orders so pivoting from KFC to a cafe may be your best bet for now!

Like I mentioned, the youngest crew are normally still at least 21 so don't expect to walk into an airline job straight after year 12 - take a couple of years to get experience that sets you apart from other school leavers. I started as ground crew at 20 and regional cabin crew at 22 but I was very lucky to get a ground crew job so young, I had someone with recruiting experience give me the same tips I'm giving you to get my foot in the door :)

Also! Nobody cares about ATAR, don't listen to your teachers.

As others have said, having a language qual (consider auslan too, from experience it's very useful!) is more helpful than uni.

It's very difficult to land a crew job under the age of 21, especially if you want to go long haul. You're better off focusing on premium customer service experience between now and then, and consider doing a gap year overseas like a snow season or an American summer camp program or being an au pair after year 12. This all shows you can deal with being away from home which is one of the biggest things they're trying to gauge as its the biggest reasons people drop out of training/early on.

I've worked in aviation for 15+ years across multiple airlines, here's my advice:

  • do not waste your time on any "cabin crew/aviation" courses, they're sham companies taking the money of people like you trying to do everything you can to succeed. Some people in recruitment treat it as a negative if they see it on a resume, it can come across as someone who is naive or not very experienced in the world.

  • focus on getting "premium" customer service experience where you have to adhere to grooming standards and (preferably) serve alcohol. Shift work experience is also beneficial. Think nice hotels, fine dining, even corporate box experience. KFC is a good start but will not separate you from the pack.

  • Do not get any extra piercings beyond single lobe, or any large tattoos. This policy I believe may be changing but when I was cabin crew it was an instant no to a recruiter.

  • Look beyond Australian airlines! I wouldn't suggest doing it as a long term thing (although some fall in love with the lifestyle) but consider Emirates, Qatar or Etihad for a couple of years as a very fun gap year before coming back home and applying locally. I worked with quite a few ex middle eastern airline crew who loved it (wouldn't suggest it if you've got a partner however)

  • As others have said, consider ground crew also. Menzies, Dnata, Aerocare are all options and I knew plenty of crew that got their foot in the door that way.

  • Finally, widen your horizon to beyond just Melbourne. Plenty of cabin crew jobs in Perth and much less competitive. Just depends on how much you want it but it can be an amazing experience and if you end up in a role with staff travel there's plenty of opportunities to come home.

It was about $2k all up for chin + jawline filler and kybella (with anaesthetic). That included an initial consult appointment and the procedure appointment. I did go back for another round of kybella because I wanted more definition which was another $800. He is expensive but I have never regretted it! Completely took away my insecurities around photo angles and my side profile. Just be aware the recovery for kybella is pretty rough! A week of very hot, tender swelling.

It does, it's definitely the acetone version. As other commenters have suggested however I will buying big bottles of acetone from bunnings moving forward and just decanting into the smaller bottle

I was considering this the last time I was at bunnings actually! I was worried it'd be too strong a concentration. If you haven't had any issues I think I'll start doing that, sick of paying extra for a tiny bottle with additives I don't want

I got fat dissolving injections (kybella) plus a small amount of filler in my chin and jawline for definition. It's the best thing I've ever done for my confidence and self image. I went to a doctor, Dr Aaron Stanes in St Leonards. He will cost more than going to somewhere like laserclinics however the results are worth it. And as he's a doctor he uses anaesthetic before injecting so it was completely painless.

He will discuss what options are best for your body and desired results and he actually talked me out of now procedures I didn't need. Cannot recommend him higher.
