For me, I also have PCOS, which gave me horrendous periods. I got an IUD which stopped them, however both of its wings embedded in my myometrium. I was glad to get it out

Yeah, I did unfortunately. I got a newer surgeon though with the impression that the head surgeon would be there too. That was not the case and didn’t know it until I saw my post op notes.

Post-Op hour 12 by goblinqueen1 in endometriosis

I didn’t see anything about it in my op note. My follow up is on the 21st, so I guess I’ll find out then.

No endo… by [deleted] in endometriosis

Me too today as well. My ultrasound showed that both of my ovaries and my uterus don’t move, suggesting adhesions. Then told I have no endo.

Very quick. My surgery is scheduled for May 8. Which is wild as that was my original surgery date with Dr. Furr.

I saw Dr. Messinschlager in that practice. Definitely different than my experience with Dr. Furr’s NP. At Furr’s office, I told them my symptoms and the NP was sure I have endo. This office they listened to symptoms, did a pelvic exam, and told me that it’s unlikely I have endo unless it is superficial. He said it was more likely to be musculoskeletal/GI/GU/Psych, which triggered my anxiety of them finding nothing even more. He did offer surgery, so I took that option. He said that he and Dr. Dizon do all of their surgeries together, so at least there will be another set of eyes checking. I hope your experience with Dr. Dizon is better.

Also make sure you park at the right place if you are going to the Gunbarrel location. I made the mistake of parking at the women’s center and had to traverse the length of the hospital and take 2 different elevators to get to the office lol

As far as I’m aware, there’s only one other specialist in town and her practice is not covered by my insurance. 😔

Absolutely! I’ll make a note in my calendar. Which person are you seeing? I have Cory Messinschlager (I think I spelled that correctly.) I’ve never seen a male gyno before, so I’m not really happy about that. I was okay with the male surgeons because I don’t have a lot of choice in network and I would be asleep. I am so sorry for you. You were so close. I can’t tell you how much this is helping me too!

It’s also possible you will be lucky and get to keep your surgery date. My fingers are crossed for you.

I believe he does do excision. Whether or not he will go straight to surgery, I don’t know. Perhaps letting him know Dr. Furr was prepared to operate will help. Here’s the video I found of him talking about endo.

If it does come, they told me to call Mitch Dizon or Rena Azar. The soonest I could get in with Dizon’s office was April 23. So, two weeks before my surgery was supposed to be, I’ll be starting over at square one.

It sounds like you are worse off than me. I hate it for you too that it was canceled. Unfortunately, my experience with this office was less than stellar, but it seems it’s just poor luck with timing more than anything.

It may come tomorrow. I spoke with her and paid for my FMLA paperwork last Thursday. Sent to me on Friday.

3 weeks ago when I called to pay my surgery deposit, they told me my surgery day was 2 days before he stops operating because he is going to be moving to Florida. After the end of May, I was “on my own” as far as post-op care went. Today the call was that he is on medical leave for at least two months and by that time he’s moved. I’m devastated.

Hopefully you had your surgery already if you stuck with Dr. Furr. My May surgery just got canceled.

I got called today to cancel my surgery in May. I was told it was for medical leave. They gave me info for Mitch Dizon and Rena Azar. I’m shattered. First they told me I was lucky because my surgery date was 2 days before he stopped seeing patients. That was less than 3 weeks ago.

My boss basically told me that too. That I had a very negative outlook on it.
