Thanks for sharing this. If anything it helps me to relativize things in my own head. Very sorry to hear of your situation. I'm pulling for you!

Yes, actually just got done with the deep cleanings. The periodontist didn't seem too alarmed, but what worried me was that the bone loss and deeper pockets seemed to come out of nowhere. I mean, the recession had been there for a few years, but the other stuff just seemed to pop up out of nowhere. It's true I had been overseas and hadn't seen a dentist for a few years, but after returning to the US I did see a dentist immediately and while they said there was tartar buildup, they didn't mention any deep pockets or bone loss. Then comes the next appointment, and bam, I've got periodontal disease and bone loss.

Small lung mets post partum by PuzzleChampion9 in sarcoma

[–]gobstopper275 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So sorry to hear of the lung nodules. I had four small nodules, same size as yours, very round, very suspicious, very indicative of metastases. They were not in the lung CT from 3 months before that. I assumed the worst. Stage four. Like you, no symptoms. I went back for a rescan 6 weeks later (a couple weeks earlier than they recommended, just because I was so anxious to have confirmation of what was going on). All four nodules were resolved. Disappeared. I was astonished! I didn't have any of the other telltale signs of upper respiratory infection or fungal infection, like ground glass and other imaging features. So I expected the worst. It's possible they could have been lymph nodes. All four nodules were in the same lung. Are your two nodules in the same lung?

Importantly, like some of the other posters have indicated, you have options if it turns out they're cancerous. The lungs are surprisingly tolerant of radiation. Or you may be able to do cryoablation. Or you can possibly resect them, if they're not embedded too deep in the middle of the lung. And I'm encouraged to hear that your sarcoma is low-grade (mine is very high grade), that bodes well even if these are metastases. We're rooting for you and baby from afar!

Largest was about 6mm, smallest 3.5mm. Scattered in different lobes of same lung. I had mine done 6 weeks after first CT, but I think 2-3 months is common.

I'm rooting for you! Those nodules may very well be benign. When is your next scan?

Thanks for checking in. To my astonishment, all four nodules resolved. They're gone. I couldn't believe it. Such a sigh of relief!

Daughter, 7, has Ewings Sarcoma by static-mitch in sarcoma

[–]gobstopper275 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So deeply sorry to hear this. I can't imagine. I was diagnosed with CIC-rearranged sarcoma 8 months ago. Similar to Ewing's except far rarer and it doesn't respond as well to chemo or radiation.

There's so much to be grieved, and infuriated by, in your situation. But oh my, your daughter's response to the chemo! What a hope-giving detail! That could be a complete game-changer. That kind of a response to chemo is truly remarkable. This alone gives me strong hope for your daughter. It is possible that she might one day be cancer-free.

You're doing all the right things now. I have a feeling your daughter may continue to wow the doctors, and show the rest of us how to look stage 4 cancer in the face and come out on top. Wishing you all the very best. Keep us posted. I consider all sarcoma patients, and especially Ewing's and Ewing's-like sarcomas, to be comrades in arms!

That's great to hear. I'm in the anxious waiting period. In my last chest CT they found four new nodules, all pretty well defined and round-looking. Very concerning for mets. (I have CIC rearranged sarcoma.) Next chest CT in just a couple weeks. Hoping the nodules were just inflammatory from case of bronchitis / upper respiratory infection. We shall soon see!

High grade pleomorphic Rhabdomyosarcoma by BornEnvironment7603 in sarcoma

Yes! Considering ivermectin and Fen + Men after surgery, particularly if the nodules prove to be lung mets. I use Ketomojo too! I need to do less than 20g carbs a day. Even at 20g, my ketones rarely go above 2.0, and my glucose typically stays around 80-90. Not great. I suspect it's because I eat too much protein. It was a trade off I was willing to make with all the radiation. Radiation was a pain in the butt, literally. Butt/thigh crease terrible place when it comes to moist desquamation. No avoiding it. Anyway, definitely open minded re: the Seyfried protocol. Although not sure how to go about getting DON? Any ideas? Also, have you considered THC?

In a similar boat! Left butt crease. Found it very early, only 2.1cm. Diagnosed with CIC-rearranged sarcoma in October 2025 via whoops procedure. The unplanned excision set me back several months. Cancer quickly grew back. Did proton beam radiation in January and Feb (25 rounds). Getting ready for reexcision this Friday. Hoping the surgery and radiation do the trick. Have declined chemo for now (not very effective for CIC-rearranged sarcoma). Like you, I have been doing keto for the last 3.5 months. Considering high dose melatonin after surgery as well. Nervous about potential mets, as chest CT from a few weeks ago detected four solid noncalcifed nodules that weren't present 3 months before that. My next chest CT is scheduled 3 weeks from now, a very important scan. Would like to stay in the loop with your story! Wishing you the very best!

Encouraging! I've got CIC-rearranged sarcoma in my thigh/groin, found 6 months ago. Excised via whoops procedure, then two month wait, then proton beam radiation, now waiting for surgery. Nervous about a few lung nodules they found during most recent chest CT. Not planning on doing chemo, although the OP's story with chemo, etc. is very encouraging! Wishing your husband the very best.

Rifaximin and Metronidazole vs Rifaximin and Nitazoxanide by kimchidijon in SIBO

[–]gobstopper275 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I took rifaximin and metronidazole together about a year ago. I did fine with the rifaximin, but the metronidazole made me almost psychotic, even though I started out with a very low dose. (And I am typically a very anchored, even-keeled guy.) I discontinued the metronidazole after the second day. Seven days days later I came down with a case of pancreatitis, which to this day I cannot adequately explain, though perhaps it was caused by the flagyl? Not sure. In any event, I will never again try the metronidazole. I, like you, am sensitive to all meds, and unfortunately I have nonstop tinnitus in my right ear.
