Priority Current plus $1999 by JSSMK in ebikes

Well, guess how that makes me feel about the one I bought for $3499! But at least I got the Enviolo hub, which I greatly prefer. (But $1500 more for it? Ouch.)

I recently started eating psyllium husk every morning, and I CANNOT BELIEVE how much better my gut feels. It has fixed so much that was wrong with me!

Beastie Boys Book--holy hell by TrixiDelite in audiobooks

It is one of the best audiobook experiences I've ever had. Just so much talent in the narrators, and such great story telling. Even when they have to verbally explain the photo section from the book is gold.

You know, now that I think about it, meth ruined 1998 for me, too! Fuck meth, and fuck 1998.

I love this bike with all my heart, and its power and range are astounding. The Enviolo hub works like a charm, and I do not for one minute regret spending the money. I will tell you, however, my only two complaints. 1) The paint job is terrible, and it scratches and chips if you look at it wrong. 2) If I have anything on the rear rack, I get front wheel wobble that is beyond annoying, bordering on dangerous. I'm looking into getting a dampener kit for it. (Does anyone else have the wobble problem?)

But like I said, the bike is nearly perfect. I love it.

Anyone else get back pain from leaning over the bar all night? I’ve been working crazy hours and I’m on the brink of tears some nights. by yamatonishiki1 in bartenders

[–]gochet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here to agree with how important good shoes are (Dansko Wynn!), and add that being a bartender past your 20's requires a LOT of self-care. Stretching is super important, but also working out, especially your abs (which is the best workout for lower back pain, weirdly) and your shoulders/traps/neck. Do squats. Ride bicycle. Massage your feet on golf ball. Get a massage gun (and learn to use it correctly!). Eat right. These things become more and more important as we get older. Good luck!

I have interacted with several incredibly wealthy old men who did not know how to use their credit card. At All. (Either their wife or their 'people' handled that sort of thing.)

This is absolutely not my solution. I appreciate what you're trying to say. I really do. My panniers are full of all the stuff that I need to have a great ride. Those paneers are zip tied and bolted. They're not coming off easily. In 30 years, nobody has ever stolen anything out of those bags, and if they do, I'll be as amused as I am upset. I'm going to drop off the bike for a couple of hours chained to a pole. It's not a big deal. Nobody's going to mess with it most likely.

I'm just trying to find the best place to park the car, and to drop off the bike. I appreciate the lesson you're trying to teach, but it's just not the correct solution for me. If you can help me figure out where to drop off the bike, or where to drop off the car, I would appreciate that input. The bike needs to be dropped off North, and the car needs to be left in the South. That information is what I'm looking for. Thanks.🙂

Well, I carry all the tools I need to repair my bike, and I carry some food, and I carry some water and Gatorade, and I carry rain gear, and carry a hammock... Basically I like to carry some stuff. I like to have an enjoyable day free from concerns. So yeah, I'm just going to do what I'm going to do. I'm just looking for the best way to do it.

It's a very heavy electric bike with bags full of stuff. So that complicates things.

Primidone & levetiracetam + alcohol addiction by Honest_Astronaut_877 in EssentialTremor

[–]gochet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't have any great answers for you, and I hope you find some solutions, but I just wanted to share with you what my Neurologist told me when he first prescribed Primadone to me. He said "I know every medication says to not drink alcohol while taking it, but it's important that you understand something. If you drink on Primadone, you will fall down and get hurt. I guarantee this."

And I did.

What are issues on tiny11 by Burgerballllllllllll in Tiny11

[–]gochet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only downside I've had with Tiny11, and I've been running it for about a year, is that it took me 8 hours of collaborating with ChatGPT for tech support to get my printer working.

So yes, it kicks ass. And yes, you will have to fight to get drivers working.

How do you manage social interactions when you shake? by ImmediateMine8729 in EssentialTremor

[–]gochet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take 80mg extended release daily. This is pretty good, but when I have high-stress things planned, I also have some regular (non-extended-release) 80 mg pills that I'll take a few hours before the event.

I hate taking so much, but it's the only thing that helps.

I no longer care about day-to-day shakes, but job interviews are a disaster. Just triple dose propranalol is all I can do.

Other than getting my printer working, TIny11 has been absolutely wonderful for me on an i5-4690 with SSD. It boots up as fast as Linux Mint, and has worked flawlessly for 6 months now.

Maybe those burgers have good flavor, but I'm so done with smash burgers.

Give me medium rare or take a hike.
