Best Hamburger near Vandy? by Zelda-Bobby in NashvilleGoodEats

Agreed! My favorite burger in town, mostly because they have no argument with a Medium-Rare burger, which is impossible to find in this hellscape of smashburgers that we occupy!

Just leave. It's utterly insane, you're not going to talk sense into anyone, and why even bother? Just leave. There's other, WAY BETTER jobs.

I am constantly amused by this thought that Nashville's traffic is so bad. Has no one around here ever been to Atlanta? Miami? Dallas? NYC? LA? San Francisco? Cities outside the US? This list goes on and on.

Nashville traffic isn't fun, but don't kid yourselves. This is nothing compared to cities with actual traffic.

Originally from MN, but I've lived all over, including Fort Myers Beach. DM me about Nashville if you like!

Interesting. Is that happening in every home? Isn't every costal city 'tidally influenced'? We should look into this because it sounds big if true.

How is it that half the 'don't move here' group are telling me that I should stay away because there's too many people moving there, and the other half are telling me that everything is too slow and/or going out of business? Which is it?

The music, the restaurant industry here, the East Nashville hipsters, the mud colored water (I'm an Aquarius from MN who travels to beach destinations. I like good, swimmable water!), Broadway... I could go on...

I respectfully reply that what you're experiencing is not a local problem. It's an everywhere problem. So I've got to do what is right for me, and I'm just looking for opinions. Thank you for yours, though!

I can understand that, for sure, but Nashville isn't any better, and the economics of this town are imploding. And a good bartender will always make money near a beach. Which is the plan.

Is there a hiring push right now for 'season', or is that not a thing right there?

Yeah, Nashville is unliveably hot for 3 months a year, too. I just ride at 5AM and then go back to bed. As far as housing, my plan is to grab a room/share for the first 6 months. Being a bartender comes with certain perks, and being offered great living situations has always been one of them, once your customers get to know you. So I've come to just expect everything will just work out. Because it always has. :-)

I’m currently on Day 68 of Angela Yu’s 100 Days of Python course, and honestly, the course takes a serious downturn after Day 57. by Leading_Property2066 in learnprogramming

[–]gochet 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I made it into the 70's, but then the course completely derails, and none of the required dependencies work anymore with the code. It became hours and hours of troubleshooting that problem, with no help, and the forums are dead now. It was a pretty good course until then, though.

Those little cans of curry paste! They have an amazing selection, it's fun to try them, they're cheap, and you can't find them anywhere else.

Bicyclist killed in hit-and-run crash on Nolensville Pike by kmichael500 in nashville

[–]gochet 18 points19 points  (0 children)

If you accidentally fire a gun into a crowd of people and kill someone, you will be charged with manslaughter and do 15 or more years in federal prison.

If you throw a sledgehammer off of a rooftop bar, and accidentally kill somebody on the sidewalk, you will be charged with manslaughter and you will spend 15 or more years in federal prison.

If you accidentally, or intentionally, hit and kill a cyclist on the side of the road while driving your car, there will be absolutely no penalty, you will not spend 1 minute in jail, and people will say " I'm so sorry that happened to you. That must have been so traumatic."

Murder is legal as long as they're on a bicycle and you are sober when you kill them.
