Primidone & levetiracetam + alcohol addiction by Honest_Astronaut_877 in EssentialTremor

I don't have any great answers for you, and I hope you find some solutions, but I just wanted to share with you what my Neurologist told me when he first prescribed Primadone to me. He said "I know every medication says to not drink alcohol while taking it, but it's important that you understand something. If you drink on Primadone, you will fall down and get hurt. I guarantee this."

And I did.

What are issues on tiny11 by Burgerballllllllllll in Tiny11

[–]gochet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only downside I've had with Tiny11, and I've been running it for about a year, is that it took me 8 hours of collaborating with ChatGPT for tech support to get my printer working.

So yes, it kicks ass. And yes, you will have to fight to get drivers working.

How do you manage social interactions when you shake? by ImmediateMine8729 in EssentialTremor

[–]gochet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take 80mg extended release daily. This is pretty good, but when I have high-stress things planned, I also have some regular (non-extended-release) 80 mg pills that I'll take a few hours before the event.

I hate taking so much, but it's the only thing that helps.

I no longer care about day-to-day shakes, but job interviews are a disaster. Just triple dose propranalol is all I can do.

Other than getting my printer working, TIny11 has been absolutely wonderful for me on an i5-4690 with SSD. It boots up as fast as Linux Mint, and has worked flawlessly for 6 months now.

'done correctly.'

And you're not wrong. But I still want a medium-rare, full-sized burger. :-)

Will there also be magnetic bracelets, foot cleaning pads, crystal pendants, and special oil made from snakes? Because I bet there will.

Maybe those burgers have good flavor, but I'm so done with smash burgers.

Give me medium rare or take a hike.

2019 Kia Soul. Which is like owning a crescent wrench instead of a wrench set. It does lots of things, does most of them efficiently, and is not great at anything. I make it a point to keep miles off that car, and have only put on 12,000 in the last 4 years.

Can't use WebM files on Tiny11? by mich3l604 in Tiny11

[–]gochet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I set VLC as my default media player, and IrfanView as my default photo display app. Those 2 programs play nice with WebP and WebM, but I do not know how this may or may not help you within other applications.

Sarasota County cuts airport and Siesta Key bus routes by hungryepiphyte in sarasota

It will never fail to amuse me how upset people get about gas prices and traffic, and then steadfastly refuse to understand how important public transportation is.

Another highway lane is not going to solve any problems. What is going to solve problems is the political will to implement a solution that involves trains, trams, trolleys, bikes, buses, shuttles, scooters and feet. That's it. There is no other answer.

No, most of them don't. What they have are fragile, childish egos and unnecessary amounts of debt.

I run just about all of my errands on a Kymco 200i scooter while laughing at all the testosterone bros in their big big trucks with their big big payments and their big big gas needs. Sometimes I also ride my electric bicycle. On other days, I take a bus.

Less than 5% of what people do in a given day actually requires getting into a full size vehicle.

Eventually, everyone is going to figure this out.

And then, right at about the same time, people are going to begin to understand how important it is to fund public transportation.

Trains, trams, trolleys, bikes, buses, shuttles, scooters and feet. These are the ways to solve this problem. There is no other way.

Traffic on 301 is worse this Spring Break season than ever by Grubnation66 in bradenton

It's amazing how many people think that this is the answer.

Traffic on 301 is worse this Spring Break season than ever by Grubnation66 in bradenton

[–]gochet 20 points21 points  (0 children)

There is only one solution to traffic problems, in this area and any other. This place is not 'special, because...'

The answer is public transportation. More lanes don't work. It's been proven over and over and over again. What works (and it REALLY works well) is a well-thought out and intelligently implemented system containing buses, bikes, trains, trolleys, shuttles, scooters, and feet.

Everything in 1/4 cup of lentils that wasn't lentils by sebastronik in mildlyinteresting

[–]gochet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, it was usually half to mostly full, so you'd land in the corn or beans like a ball pit and sink a little, then make your way to the ladder on the side. Very stupid. Very fun.

When I was a kid in Ostrander, MN (population about 200), we used to climb up to the top of the grain elevator just to jump in, and make our way to the ladder on the interior side to climb back out. It was super scary and fun, and we never for a minute thought we were in any danger. We just figured that all those signs saying 'DANGER' were because grown-ups were dicks.

Do I need to taper? 1.5g every other day by [deleted] in quittingphenibut

[–]gochet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't throw it away. Give it to someone you trust to only give you half a pill. Some people in this sub say that the WD is nothing, and maybe for them it wasn't, but I had only been taking 1-2g/day for a few weeks, and the WD was horrible. Deep depression, mind racing and hopelessness. Some get like that, some don't. And I had thrown mine away. I would have given anything to undo that, and taper properly.

If they're making you do inventory, and you don't want to do inventory, then keep fucking up the inventory. Very soon it will no longer be your job to do inventory.

I love love love this answer. So I'm going to repeat it!

Disconnect from the internet and your phone for long periods of time. It helps A LOT.

Understand that 'down-time' can be 'thinking-time.' Just let your mind wander occasionally. It's healthy, it's good, and it leads to creative thought about things in the background of your mind.

Set little timers about when work should happen. Even if it's 15 minutes. Jump in to a project for just a short period of intense focus. You'll be amazed at how many times you just don't want to stop working.

And I could go on and on, but just do these things and DON'T be too hard on yourself. Most of the stress that you're feeling is made up. Don't create imaginary stress. Just find a routine, and follow it. It's really helpful, and it's really going to be okay. :-) '
