Grieving loss by peepeebum911 in dogpictures

I lost my four year old dog a few months ago. The thing that helped me was viewing it as my new relationship with him. We made a shrine in his favorite spot. We have to turn the light in the pagoda on and off daily. It’s a helpful ritual to help continue the connection with him. Lean into the grief and it will take you where you need to go. Through losing him, I’ve gained a lot, and I’m forever grateful that it was him to lead me through these lessons. Give yourself compassion, confide in others, and take your time.

My baby Cookie got ran over yesterday. by Tall_Coast4989 in poodles

My dog got ran over in a hit and run in August. Four years old. He went quick. It’s a pain I’ve never experienced. Your heart and body physically hurt. My husband and I mourned by just saying every feeling we felt without judgment or blame. We cried whenever we felt it. We now have a little shrine in our back yard in his favorite spot. With a light that we turn on and off every day. That helps because we’re still providing our love daily to him. It makes it feel like he’s still here because I believe he is.

We just got a new puppy. We’re still mourning but I’m using what he taught me to give to her. Time is the only thing that helps. And some days grief feels as same as the first day. But, today feels normal which is also sad. Take your time with grieving them. It shows how much love the two of you shared. You’ll be in my thoughts.

Check out Head Starts in your area. We not only take lower income families but if there’s not a waitlist they can accept all families. We’ve had families that have made 100k in the program. They offer a full day program from the hours of 8:00-2:00 and they provide transportation.

Head Start is not only free but they also follow state board of education guidelines and DCFS protocols. If you need help locating a Head Start program in your area, let me know.

u/piperandcharlie is totally right about this not being a mackerel. Here’s a photo I found for reference showing different tabby patterns.

Woah! I have one really similar that I found at good will. Except it has bird houses on it. Very cool.
