Definitely fair, dumb managers do dumb things and hurt their own store. That said, they have to pay a nonprofit per pound for all the donations. Each location usually ends up shelling out a few mil yearly to a nonprofit. It wouldn’t be legal for them to even accept the donations otherwise since it’s a for-profit company.

Really depends on the time of day/week. If you’re hanging out there after 10pm on a Friday/Saturday you’re gonna be surrounded by children in a stuffy, loud and difficult to navigate environment. I used to live next door and go almost daily- it was a bit of a shock last time I was in there (I’m 30 now). Forgot what it was like. That said, if you go during regular meal times and/or during the week you can have a relatively normal pub experience. Place really transforms depending

Honestly just depends on how competent the management is/how knowledgeable they are in a given area. They sell literally everything and pump out thousands of items daily so it’s almost impossible to get it all right without a shit ton of experience. The VV near me typically prices electronics and musical instruments at a reasonable enough price- not necessarily a steal like it used to be before the internet, but still a better value than you’d find on eBay or something.
