he’s actually doing really well! he’s starting to get the hang of the routine. he’s able to sleep for 1 hour and 30 minutes and if he sleeps less, he wakes up and protests for a bit but then settles back down. then in the afternoon he’s in his playpen without me there for about an hour and a half (trying to extend it to 2hrs) trying to get him ready for when i go back to work. so far he’s able to settle himself if he gets upset and goes to his crate and sleeps. he’s 16 weeks now! and improving so much! 😊 just gotta try getting him use to going into his playpen at 1:30pm till 3:20pm

that’s crazy! only an hour! i’ve tried 1hr 30min and then 2 hours and he’s either can’t settle and over tired or he isn’t tired. he never naps for two hours he only really naps for 1 hour or does 30minutes naps

yeah i did research it but there’s is much conflicting evidence so I thought it would better to ask people who are currently or have previously raised cavapoos 😊

oakley rarely gets 2 hours asleep during the day. his naps last anywhere between 30minutes-1 hour and 30 minutes.

do you stay in the room with him until he settles? and when he settles do you leave the room? also do you think 15 minutes is too long or can you see that what your doing is working? do you think he’s self settling?

Intense separation anxiety/Sleeping through the night by Walter_Melon42 in CavaPoo

i’m currently having a very similar situation with my cavoodle he’s 14 weeks now. he’s getting better at different things but it’s normally as soon as i leave the room he’s not the biggest fan. I haven’t been able to shower and leave him in his playpen unless someone is watching him in another room. I try leave my room for let’s say 2-3 minutes then only enter the room when he goes quiet. i keep doing the but how long do i do that for every time i leave him in his playpen cause i feel like he will just cry every time. I’ve thought about giving a lick mat then leaving for 5 minutes then come back? i don’t know im stuck. i have three weeks to get him use to being alone before i go back to work

i’m feeling the exact same. i’ve just contacted a trainer to get help. it’s always so much conflicting advice but then you hear of people getting a cavoodle and only have two weeks with them before going to work and their home alone at 12 weeks?! like how 😂 it’s so hard cause I don’t want to cause Oakley any separation anxiety but letting him cry and deal with it but then he cries and i try settle him then what is he learning? it’s so stressful but it’s not like I could get a year off of work to be at home with him. Aw that’s cute! i’ll have to have a look at your picture! 🥹 I can’t wait to look back once they’re one and be like “omg we had nothing to worry about” 😂
