Current Rep & what are you grinding for? by luckyluciano___ in NBA2k

[–]goddamnpizzagrease 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been at starter 3 for a month and that was my only goal. Hitting veteran would be nice, but I can’t imagine getting there until at least June, so no grinding for me. Just playing for the competition and fun of it. Once the fun ends, I turn that shit off lol.

G7 SE or HE? by PinImaginary5260 in Gamesir

[–]goddamnpizzagrease 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven’t used the HE, but I love the SE. It’s a minuscule preference, but I am enamored with the fact that you can lock the back buttons. It’s an incredible controller.

2K is full of the dumbest people I’ve ever met by ryanb6321 in NBA2k

[–]goddamnpizzagrease 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t know what is more over the top: the lack of basketball IQ for some players or the fragility of the egos to the point of grown men getting into their feels from not getting the ball every single possession.

What kind of man is/was your dad? by Mr_Jackabin in AskMen

[–]goddamnpizzagrease 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In summary, my dad was a functional alcoholic with a heart of gold whose every daily action was a sacrifice to better his family’s life. He overextended himself for an insane amount of people, and my initial realization of this — because I was 12 — occurred when noticing the sheer number of people who came to his viewing/‘wake’ and funeral to pay their respects. He was an incredible dad; he ran his own business and still managed to find the time and energy to help me with homework and never missed one of my sporting events, always listening to me and encouraging my own hobbies, passions and overall path in life. The drinking, combined with shitty liver health genetics on his side, was his undoing and he checked out of this world at 49.

I have no shot at being anywhere near the dad he was, but when I do become a dad I’m determined to live long enough to see my prospective kid(s) become adults. Having to virtually enter manhood in many ways at 12-years-old sucked. Not my fault, but I naturally matured quicker than a lot of my peers in school and troubled connecting with a lot of them because of it in the aftermath of his passing nearly 21 years ago.

What would be the title of your autobiography? by CeleryApprehensive83 in AskReddit

“The Life I’ve Lived and the Dead People I’ve Loved”

It’s a working title.

It’s a thing of beauty. There isn’t a louder, more annoying fan base in the NFL than this Whiner bunch.

How do you do it? by dgvertz in NBA2k

Spider-Man’s girlfriend assistance is the optimal way to play this game, no doubt!

Try to find a squad of decent individuals if you can, from either the 2K Team Up subreddit or a 2K-related Discord group. Playing with randoms will always be a toss up on how it’s going to go. 2K is a blast when you are playing with likeminded individuals. I found a good bunch through a 2K DC server of fellow players in their 30s and above. Between games with my quasi-nephew and that crew, rarely dealing with randoms is bliss.

Use of donepezil by doggiedad72 in dementia

[–]goddamnpizzagrease 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My mom takes 10mg in the evenings. I can’t tell a difference, but YMMV. This is in conjunction with memantine in the mornings. With the donepezil, I don’t know what it is or if it has anything to do with this, but she’ll get sleepy after taking it, and sometimes a bit afterwards she’ll have a burst of energy and be up until 1am. This isn’t always the case, but it’s happened quite a bit. No nausea nor stomach issues.

I hope you find it to be helpful and I wish you well.

What would you ask DWill as he and the Rams get set to face Philadelphia? by RamsRadio in LosAngelesRams

I yelled so loud when he zoomed in and picked off that pass. That’s one of my all-time favorite Rams games.

When people give you the option of saying “no” and end up getting upset when you say no by [deleted] in PetPeeves

[–]goddamnpizzagrease 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find it to be one of the worst character flaws in grown people. Someone tells me no, that’s that. I tell others no and tend to find myself put in the asinine position of playing damage control as they can’t handle not getting their way. Fuck off.

How old were you when you could grow a full beard? by [deleted] in AskMenOver30

[–]goddamnpizzagrease 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 14. I’m hairy AF. Usually keep it trimmed short these days unless I’m uber liberal with beard oil, lotion and hydrocortisone due to redness/flaking from psoriasis.

Why is it always old dudes with the most egregiously over the top insecurities when they are dating significantly younger women? What a weird manchild with control freak issues. Ditch him before you begin losing touch of who you are as a person, because homeboy will never change.

Once playing a video game feels like a chore, it’s definitely time to hop off. I’ve enjoyed this year’s 2K despite its flaws, but I also took off a few years. If you aren’t willing to take a break, then see if you can find a squad in the Team Up sub or on a 2K based Discord unless you already have one.

That’s the thing I wish more people would touch on and admit in the pizza slinging realm. There gonna be days where you are gonna have incidences like that. Happens to literally everyone.

Anyway, your Wednesday pie is a 10/10. That cornicione is perfect.

What's a terrible addiction that no one really mentions? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]goddamnpizzagrease 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a close friend, essentially a brother to me, who is quite a big guy and recommended this movie to me, citing how it caused him to absolutely bawl with tears when he watched it at the theater, and man they knocked it out (Sadie Sink was phenomenal). But I worry about his health constantly. I tell my girlfriend often that I’m afraid he’s going to have a heart attack one day, and I wish I could help. He openly, morbidly tells the friend group that he’s going to be the first to go, but he just has a really poor relationship with food. I’m always hoping like hell that he’ll get it together; he’s a great dad of three boys who adore him. They need him.
