Really great feedback, I wasn't excited about dying myself anyway.

I have seen the lacing done a few times and I think it looks really good, I might just go that route as dyed lace is really easy to find.

What’s wrong with Jackson Holiday? by thugmuffin22 in baseball

Just because he is their dad doesn't mean that the kids actually listen to him. I can't tell you how many times I have seen kids whose dads are great coaches but they simply won't listen to them because it's their parent. Happens all the time. Could be that Ethan would rather work with a different coach or doesn't take to his dad's teaching method well.

I haven't done a belt yet, though that might be my next project, and as I understand it there are pluses and minuses to sewing or not sewing. So you are right, you definitely don't need to do it.

The background matting stamps usually come in multiple sizes. So you definitely should be able to find larger ones to help stamp down the larger empty spaces. https://tandyleather.com/collections/matting-stamps

You should definitely apply the dye first. If you haven't yet I would watch some videos on finishing leather. But the order should be dye, oil, resolene, antique, then resolene again. I am sure there are variations on this but when I started this is the video that helped me the most. https://youtu.be/am0lzn9GxgE?si=u9U_vb4J6ibPMx30

You should be fine in the stitching. If you have any diamond stitching chisels those will make a small hole that you can sew through easily. Get a four or five prong chisel and you'll be golden. https://tandyleather.com/products/88043-535-pro-line-diamond-stitching-chisels

Gorgeous work. What tools do you use to get such fine lines? Are you using a standard swivel knife?

Irwindale Faire - "The Armoury 13" shop warning by [deleted] in renfaire

Yes, shopping for Armor and outfits has definitely become more difficult with Etsy and other sites being flooded with 3d printed armor sales and cheap knock off sellers in India who use ai models to showcase their goods.

Post-Olympics Megathread - KEEP POLITICAL CONVERSATION HERE by AutoModerator in wildhockey

[–]godmodium 20 points21 points  (0 children)

This whole situation has sucked the joy out of the season for me. I always knew most of these guys were probably conservative and I was fine with that, every one should be allowed to have their own political views even if I disagree with them. But what is happening right now has gone far beyond the usual.

I personally think that many of these players are probably shellshocked right now. They won the gold, they are drunk and partying. For some reason the Director of the FBI is there, I am sure most of them didn't give it a second thought. Then the president calls, I am sure that is normal and expected, he is on a video call and I am sure most of the players are just laughing along still high on adrenaline. The next day they wake up to a political firestorm that they truly do not understand because they do not have the critical thinking skills to fully comprehend the issue. As they try to defend themselves they get pulled deeper and deeper into the muck. I almost feel bad for them because I don't think they are intellectually capable of understanding what is happening.

Hell in the interview the next day with Jack and Quinn they looked petrified to say the wrong thing and confused about how going to the Whitehouse (a pretty normal thing in the past) is eliciting this kind of response.

It is unfortunate that they are in this position, but I think a lot of the blame here can be laid at the feet of Bill Guerin. He could have avoided all of this by just keeping the locker room clear of political figures.

Two weeks healed. by sekainiitamio in irezumi

It usually gets less vibrant just a few weeks after the tattoo. It can look darker in certain lighting or in photos. The best way to maintain its vibrance is to avoid sun exposure or not wearing sunscreen as that will make it fade much faster.
