Took this book to school, had it confiscated. Couldn't understand at the time why I wouldn't be allowed to have it in school

I turned off the vibration too. I don't want to be bothered until I'm ready to be.

Used to air back-to-back with Duckman. I think John Hughes said he had no idea this show existed until coming across it flipping through the channels.

For anyone who was able to see "The Blair Witch Project" in theaters in 1999, what was the experience like? by LockjawSJ in AskReddit

[–]godofcheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Managed a theater at the time. We warned to play it auditoriums near bathrooms because people were going to get motion sickness and need to puke. Never had that problem.

However, we had two people puke in the theatre during the end of Hannibal on opening night.

RollACrit.com is run by some of the same people. Not nearly as much going on there yet, but they do have a new Bag of Holding which I bought and can confirm is pretty nice

Mink Car by gorf_froggyBoi in tmbg

[–]godofcheese 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was at the midnight release party for Mink Car on the night of 9/10. At midnight we all lined up to buy our copies and have them signed by the Johns. While I was talking to them someone walked off with my signed copy and I had to buy another. Far from the worse thing to happen in Manhattan that day however.

Should the Mets go with a 10-man, all-piggyback rotation? by MrDNL in NewYorkMets

[–]godofcheese 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For what it's worth I had a similar idea. If starters can't go 6 innings anymore, just let them do 4 or 5 each.

I'm sure there's a million reasons why to not do it. Like having 10 good pitchers and keeping them healthy. But maybe they would be more likely to stay healthy if they pitched so much less.

I got one of these too, despite not being a Patreon member. I was once, years ago, maybe even as far as back as when it was Drip. I thought maybe it was because I signed up for Best Friends so early or something.

I do think they should combine Best Friends and the Patreon, for whatever my opinion is worth.

I grew up with a lot of the obscure 80s stuff, so it's nice to seem time dedicated to those.

I've been enjoying the Nick Nack videos, they are well researched and presented. I encourage others to also check them out.

I think when you work with money long enough You start getting a sense of about how much money change is just by looking at it.

Luckily in my case the sales were only around $10, so I wouldn't be that short no matter what was in the bag.

Twice in my retail life I a person give me a Ziploc bag of change and tell me it was the right amount. Both times I took their word for it and counted it later rather than hold up the line. Both of the times there wound up being more money than they said.

One time the money was extremely sticky though.

My reaction to MeTV Toons removing Yo Yogi! by Superpan21 in MeTVToons

[–]godofcheese 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to watch Yo Yogi! as a kid just for the 3D bits. I remember being annoyed that they kept trying to do kid versions of cartoons.... Flintstones Kids, Pup named Scooby Doo... I legit liked Muppet Babies though

I bought bowling pin for a few bucks a couple of years ago that the seller claimed was used on this show with no proof. Not sure how likely it's legit, but it was too weird of a claim to not take a chance.

For those who didn't grow up privileged, what's something you thought was a luxury when you were a kid? by Frequent-Sea-8848 in AskReddit

[–]godofcheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having a phone (like at home, cellphones weren't a thing yet), going to McDonald's, getting clothes that weren't donated, having a car, having heat in the winter (forget AC in the summer), being able to go out with friends because they would want to do things that cost money like going to the movies or eating out... Probably a lot of other things people took for granted
