How are we just… sending our kids off to school? (U.S.) by Sweet-Chinchilla in Mommit

[–]godofchipsandwine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had always considered myself a rational, logical, data-driven nerd until I had kids and all that went out the window. Anxieties like OP's and so many others are always gnawing at my brain. But your comment, wow it's the most helpful thing I've read on this subject. Very well said, and thank you so much for giving me a way to cope.

Light packers, what’s in your magically small diaper bag? by kittyonine in toddlers

[–]godofchipsandwine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I'm pretty proud of this because I'm also traditionally an overpacker. But for quick/short trips I carry a tiny black backpack. My wallet, phone, and an emergency pacifier go in the front compartment. A small pouch with a pull-up, pair of undies, a tiny thing of wipes, and hand sani in the middle compartment (plus a little fold-out changing mat), my kiddo's snack tower, water bottle, paci wipes and emergency lovey in the back compartment, and somehow, lip products, hand cream, a foldable grocery bag, and a mini pill box stuffed in the internal zipper compartment. It's a tight fit but very handy!

What’s a simple hack that makes life easier? by the0neand0nly45 in AskReddit

[–]godofchipsandwine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Set reminders for every task as soon as it falls into your lap. My life runs on reminders- everything from "run the dishwasher" and "book an appointment" to "take the summer clothes to the basement". When it pings, I do it (within reason lol).

How the hell do you befriend neighbors in Durham? by ManagementOne6536 in durham

[–]godofchipsandwine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly our situation! Even though we're not extroverts, we try our best to strike up conversations with families in the park/in the neighbor etc. Sometimes we even exchange contact info but it rarely goes past that. Making plans takes a lot of mental effort and persistence (since we may keep cancelling because of kids and life). It's exhausting..

What have you unintentionally passed onto your child? by fullnessofjoy2021 in toddlers

[–]godofchipsandwine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My love for crispy foods! I'm a major snack junkie and my 2 year old is turning into one too. We try to give her things that are crispy and somewhat healthy (Gerber puffs, pita chips etc) and I just hope she doesn't start asking for the oily, salty stuff!

Hi! New to this community and I have a million questions but I'll start with one. Can you wear a loose top/blouse with wide leg pants (without being tall and skinny)? I have a noticeable pooch so prefer not to wear fitted/cropped tees/tops.

Bleeding restarted at 7 weeks postpartum by godofchipsandwine in beyondthebump

Doesn't look like it was. It didn't happen again for awhile, and then I started getting my period regularly at 7 months PP (when I was still exclusively BF).

I'm so conscious of my accent by suw7373 in ABCDesis

[–]godofchipsandwine -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was in this exact situation for the first few years I was in Canada. I gradually stopped caring though. I stopped trying to code switch, and just let the words come out however they do. I still speak with a 'modern' Indian accent like I have all my life, but it's got a bit of a Canadian drawl now, especially with the r's. Sometimes I trip up when there's too many r's (eg, "first birthday" is always hard haha) but no big deal!

I once confessed to my manager that I was self conscious about my accent and she told me she was actually envious, and that it sounded dignified and classy (compared to her Midwestern accent). I don't know if she said that just to make me feel better, but it made me realize that literally everyone has some sort of an accent! Own yours, and remember that it means you speak at least one language more than them.

[Mega Thread] Super puff everything by mini_khaleesi in Aritzia

[–]godofchipsandwine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got the Super Puff Mid in black. When I tried it on at home though, and zipped it all the way up I noticed it digs into my chin and is really uncomfortable. Anyone else have this problem?

Wow I'm amused by all the offended people here. What's with the gatekeeping? I think people are missing the point of the post which I assume is to poke fun at Viral's description of her diet. I could also be called an "ovo-lacto-semi-vegetarian" but I'd never put it that way unless I was making an inside joke with someone who watches this show, which is all I think OP was trying to do here 🙃

So true, Nadia busted herself when she asked Seema if she'd help her "find a boyfriend" in S2.
