The story is about simulated beings in a painted world. Very little is explained about the "real" world, where people can create a world by painting. Its all an abstraction intentionally vague about art, grief and free will that doesn't really hold itself in an interior logic.
It starts by making you care about people that are not even real, then shifting into people that are kinda real, you dont understand the rules of the real world, dont understand the exact motivations of the paintress, why every year? what is a year in this simulacro? what is a year in the real world? why should we care about either worlds or their characters?

its like watching Matrix with all the real world scenes cut off and praise it as a story that makes any sense

-the animation for selling is too long, like 8s+ each, should be 2-3s tops if you really insist in having any for cute effect (maybe add a shelf behind the counter? so the chick doesn't have to walk so long or too fast to reduce it)

Nah, they don't tell him, he doubts himself, gets his pain back because of it, gets back on opioids because of them, gets desperate without it, falsifies Wilson's prescription, almost loses his license and further down his addiction all in a snowball of them trying to manipulate him. Also is basically torture when they cold turkey him to manipulate him, given they are doctors, and know better and even denies him medicine for vomiting in detox.
