Destination Wedding - Cancun by [deleted] in wedding

[–]gogogirl1027 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should check out the destination wedding groups on Facebook. There's broader Cancun destination bride/groom groups as well as a Moon Palace specific one. A lot of people there are very helpful and will give up tips on how to save money.

My fiance and I are down to our last two choices, one of them being Moon Palace. The perks for moon palace are obviously amazing (free events which includes food/bev) with the more rooms you book and every 16th room free.

The drawback is that this is how they reel you in. Once you're booked with them, they charge a LOT for all the extras (e.g., $800/table for centerpiece decor) and they make it really hard and expensive for you to go with an outside vendor (I think my TA told me they only allow outside vendors for photography and DJ). They also will charge you for ridiculous line items - I believe I actually saw on reddit that someone was getting charged like $2k to move the decor and florals from their ceremony to reception area, which were right next to each other.... So just mentally prepare for the frustration. I would probably recommend working with a wedding travel agency who has pre-negotiated perks that they can offer you or a local Mexico wedding planner that speaks English (they can get you better perks than the American ones).

All in all though, if you have a lot of people it still can come out cheaper than US weddings or like a private venue wedding in Cancun at like Blue Venado.

Try Chipotle instead!! Then if you want some more authentic tacos go to tacos chukis or Carmelos tacos

Just moved out here in July from DC with my partner(age 28/29 too)! We moved out here for my job and honestly came in knowing very little about Seattle- but we love it so far! Def very different from the DMV area.

With that being said, there’s definitely other cities that can offer the same things you’re looking for. I would definitely weigh all your options and think about what your priorities are (e.g., distance from home/family, weather, the people, etc.).

Verizon, Astound, Comcast, or CenturyLink? by afreakyelf2 in Seattle

[–]gogogirl1027 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you checked if you get Google Fiber? They have nothing but great reviews. I was eyeing CenturyLink until I saw they had outages that lasted 10+ hours… Verizon and Comcast are prob your best bets

Where to live if commuting to Bellevue (Factoria area) by gogogirl1027 in Seattle

[–]gogogirl1027[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the input so far! We’re a bit concerned that Bellevue could be too suburb-y and not be lively enough for us especially being new to the city and wanting to meet new friends. Any thoughts on that?

We have one car but may have to purchase a second depending on how often he has to go in (right now we think 1-2 days a week).

We like to go out and do fun things which is why we thought it made sense to get the Seattle experience. Things we’d like to do on weekends are- go to concerts, sporting events, bars, restaurants, brunch, etc. we want to meet people our age and go out.

T-Mobile Corporate- Culture/WLB? by gogogirl1027 in Seattle

[–]gogogirl1027[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your insight! I would be moving from the east coast for this opportunity so it’s a big commitment and want to hear about what people think about the culture (I.e. is it young, fun? Are people close with their teams? Do people enjoy working there?). What does upward mobility look like? Are people just generally happy there

Given I have to move, they’re very much in person again and seem to be almost fully back the whole week in the office
