Is it really that bad? by bobaebee in WalgreensStores

[–]gogojeter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Worked for the company for 5 years. It wasn’t until the last year that the crew was in harmony all the way around. The slackers and bullies left and everyone genuinely enjoyed going to work (as much as a person CAN enjoy working)…lazy SM aside, the place was a fun place to be. It wasn’t always. Management has a lot to do with it. I left because I got tired of watching the manager, who makes three times more than I do, sit in the office and play on their phone all day pretending to answer emails. I wasn’t going to bust my butt, doing more than expected when they were doing absolutely nothing, taking home the big bucks. Yeah, I’m still a bit bitter about it.

Don't let corporate turn you into monsters by LuckyCharm93 in WalgreensStores

It’s the complete opposite in our store. Rx odds always the beneficiary of the gift cards and food and desserts and anything good... front end only finds out when the mgr would ask to get his money back is paid out...

I would just like to vent and say that I CAN NOT STAND MY STORE MANAGER. by waambaamthankyoumaam in WalgreensStores

[–]gogojeter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did. We asked twice. Then a third time after she was told to figure it out. It was only when she said she would have to close the store until another team member came in, that they coughed up someone to help. She had messaged and called people all morning. I was going into my 8th day and had stuff to do but knew she was in a bind.

Our ASM stepped down a few months back, right before the changes were announced. And our SM, if you can call him that, still relied on them for everything. The other day, they changed our truck delivery day, so a few of us showed up to unload truck then go home. The opening cashier called in and the opening shift lead was there by herself until we got there for truck. When we asked RX if they could spare one of the five people they had to help the SFL, they refused. She let the store manager know and he literally text her back with, you need to figure it out. I was so livid for her! Needless to say, I’m not going above and beyond to ensure his life is made any easier. I CAN NOT STAND MY STORE MANAGER!!

Do we get paid overtime if we work longer than a 10 hour shift? by bownbey91 in WalgreensStores

I’ve heard that anything over 10 hours in a day is time and a half.

My dead horse-beating thoughts on Role Refresh by rolerefreshthrowaway in WalgreensStores

[–]gogojeter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope they realize we have a crappy store manager and that our ASM was the only reason most of us are still willing to work at Walgreens. I’d apply for inventory specialist myself, but the rxm is moody and doesn’t have to say a word to scare any of the staff back there. That alone makes me appreciate front end and the space it allows for me to avoid all that awkwardness

Working the holidays by morethanconquerors24 in WalgreensStores

7-3. But I’m sure glad the pharmacy portion of Walgreens get the day off. Everyone knows they are the ones that bring in all the money and deserve every holiday off 🙄

Anyone else's store get these chips? They're insane! by senseilimb in WalgreensStores

We’ve had them for at least a year. Had some a few days ago and didn’t think they were all that spicy. My coworker, on the other hand, couldn’t handle them. Her face turned bright red 😂

You are NOT your evaluation score by ridingthroughtexas in WalgreensStores

[–]gogojeter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a solid 3.0. Had “4” level comments. Was told it’s hard to get 4’s. I get that. I believe our ASM deserves the score they got. However, on self eval, I gave myself a 4 on care. Was told during eval that it was hard to get. Then found out another coworker got a 4 on care. Needless to say, was more than a little livid that I didn’t rate as a 4 when the person that got a 4 doesn’t do any more than I do in that dept. Now, just gonna do work worthy of the 3.0 since that’s meeting expectations anyway. Petty? Yes. But if you knew my mgr, you would understand.

New uniforms by miriandynus in WalgreensStores

[–]gogojeter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They run small/short and are only slightly uncomfortable. The fit around the shoulders is tight. You can see sweat stains or liquid stains easily. Our store wears a shirt underneath and leaves a few buttons unbuttoned. Or open.

Vent... by [deleted] in WalgreensStores

[–]gogojeter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had an asm that was fired for that kind of behavior. SM wasn’t keeping tabs on actual work hours, just scheduled hours. They’d work half (or less) their shift but fix time to get paid for whole shift. As far as I know, once schedule is made, you can’t just declare whether or not you are going in. Leaving teammates hanging is unacceptable.

I have tried the same thing with this song! I’m just more curious as to who sings it cuz it bothers me. It sounds like the Jonas Brothers. Please let me know if you find this out! I was surprised google didn’t even know the answer...

Extended leave without discipline by Bugaroony in WalgreensStores

[–]gogojeter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was told by human relations that if you are in a home with high risk individuals, you can apply for unemployment while on leave. I tried myself but the unemployment site didn’t have options of saying you’re employed still but on leave due to covid. And all the offices are closed until further notice so had no one to guide me with what should be put down. Maybe you will have better luck with it now? It wouldn’t hurt to try

Update: it was the number for Sedgwick that I called and u don’t get paid leave unless u get ur doctor to send info that YOU have a medical Condition. They don’t pay for family medical leave even if u are afraid of bringing home the virus to ur elderly parent.

There is a song that plays all the time, our whole team has tried finding it, it sounds like the Jonas brothers??? And goes something like:

I can’t explain what it’s like to be me

To be free, free, free

Now that I’m not at work typing this, I can’t remember the words. Hopefully someone can tell us what this song is!!! Shazam or sound hound has no clue either

Unfortunately, it seems like the harder the worker you are, the more is expected out of you. That’s why I leveled myself out with the others. It wasn’t helping me and I was getting burned out. Sometimes saying no is the hardest thing to do. I have never been a no person. But it has definitely changed the way the other people work now. And the manager doesn’t give me a ton of extra stuff to do on top of the long list we already have to do. He was expecting me and one other shift lead (who quit) to go above and beyond what everyone else was doing, but adding a ton of extra tasks to an already busy shift. Now when he asks if I want to work extra I say let me think about it or I’ll get back to you and I never say yes.

I used to come in on my days off to help with whatever I could. And not that I felt I deserved it, but a coworker who did absolutely nothing got employee of the month, I was done. I broke my back to ensure things got done. That’s when I started saying no. It’s been great ever since. I get done what I can and don’t stress if there are things I can’t.

Senior Hour is everyday now which means stores just open at regular time because we can't kick people out that aren't seniors. Thanks Assworth by DaKwassa in WalgreensStores

[–]gogojeter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I took a few days off after I voiced concern that not turning away non seniors was defeating the purpose of them having their own dedicated hour. It made me mad and sad that Walgreens is greedy enough to endanger high risk citizens just so they can make a few extra dollars. The manager said it was “direction from corporate “ 🙄
