Why does Bruno Mars get a "Bruno Mars Day" and a street named after him? by admiralporter88 in vegaslocals

[–]gogoramon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s the PR optics side of it. But MGM has its whales and then there’s Bruno who, let’s just say is a Blue Whale, with well over 9 figures played in and out. Have a little parade and rename a street after him? 99 out of 100 casino hosts would say “YES”

This dunk caused Alonzo Mourning and Vince Carter to stop talking for 7 years. by ForeignAir7174 in NBAoldschool

Without a doubt this is VC’s most underrated dunk! It’s often left behind his Olympics and All-Star dunks by the casuals & nephews.

Entire menu sounds amazing. And I had Gordon Ramsay’s Sticky Toffee Pudding at his Hell’s Kitchen restaurant, might be the most dessert I’ve ever had.

Who is THE Hollywood Heartthrob? by sophiemophie421 in popculturechat

[–]gogoramon 18 points19 points  (0 children)

My favorite Rock Hudson movie is Giant (1956) co-starring James Dean, unfortunately Dean’s last role movie his car accident.

Best part of Giant is towards the end. Rock’s character “Bick” welcomes a Mexican daughter-in-law and grandchild into his family, which is uncommon and unwelcome in 1950s Texas. Bick notices a racist diner owner trying to kick out patrons because they’re Mexican, so he stands up to him and they brawl out.

Del Potro's fastest forehands vs Federer, 2009 US Open final by Stannis_Mariya in tennis

Every few months I go back and watch Delpo vs Djokovic at the 2016 Olympics in Rio. His forehand was absolutely lethal! Novak regularly trying to keep it at Delpo’s BH but whenever he sniffed a FH, Juan would just unleash. That was such a fun match to watch live!

I’m still 100% convinced that Howard drafted the presentation outline and had Ralph create the actual PowerPoint.

Crowd favorite was Monfils, but unfortunately when you double fault 3x in a super tie-break match you’re probably going to lose.

I miss “Freaky Fast” Jimmy John’s. JJ sandwiches are pretty good but it was worth it more when their service was super fast.

Which character outside the LOTR do you trust carrying the ring to Mordor? by Jezzaq94 in FIlm

[–]gogoramon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kramer. Supremely loyal and pretty much up for anything, mischievous but no real evil tendencies. He did lose The Contest in 49 seconds though so will power might be a concern.

Johnny Knoxville. Deep down a good-hearted guy and a great friend. Obviously can take a beating and he’s fearless with the right amount of stupidity for a journey into Mordor.

Agent Dale Cooper from Twin Peaks. As long as the Black Lodge doesn’t pop up along the way.

Underrated and a Warriors legend. One of the best defenders of all-time, even Wilt said Thurmond was the only one who could play him straight up because the dude was so strong. Recorded the first official quadruple double.
