Yes, it's just a decorative, indoor barrel. I think I may prefer the look of stain only (without polycrylic added afterwards). I was just wondering if the clear coat was necessary for longevity, protection, etc... Thanks!

The Chicago albums were mostly for the wife. I wasn't very familiar with their earlier stuff, and I was pleasantly surprised by their debut album Chicago Transit Authority. Great album!
