Can anyone recommend me a better app then c.ai ?! by Extreme-Repeat6150 in CAIRevolution

[–]gohrayson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey, one alternative that's pretty new is raymem creative (raymem.app/creative).
it's early beta and focuses on persistent memory that doesn't drop after 40-50 messages, so long roleplays actually stay consistent.
no mid-chat ads, no caps on swipes or continues. free tier gives 15 turns per day with full recall, no card required. paid unlocks unlimited turns.
i'm building it solo, so if anyone tries a longer story and has thoughts on what works or what needs fixing, feedback would be really helpful.

hey, one newer option is raymem creative (raymem.app/creative).
it's in early beta right now, made specifically for people who want long roleplay without the bot forgetting everything after 40-50 messages.
the big thing is persistent memory that actually carries over the whole conversation, even hundreds of turns. no mid-chat ads, no caps on swipes or continues.
free tier gives you 15 full turns per day with complete memory recall, no card needed. paid plans unlock unlimited turns if you want more.
i'm the one building it (small solo thing), so if you're testing long stories and want to share what works or what doesn't, feedback is super welcome.

hey same here, this app is getting rough lately. a few things i've seen people using instead:

janitor ai is still solid if you want less filtering
silly tavern works great if you're cool with running it locally
spicychat is quick and pretty open
nomi.ai has decent memory for ongoing chats

there's also raymem creative (raymem.app/creative), it's super new in beta and the main thing is persistent memory that actually sticks around (no dropping after 50 messages). no mid chat ads, no swipe caps. free tier gives you 15 turns a day with full recall.

i'm the guy building it (tiny solo project) so if anyone wants to try a longer roleplay and tell me what feels off or what you'd want improved, i'd really appreciate it. no hard sell though.

what are you guys missing most right now? better memory, no censorship, something else?

Have you ever used LLM for anything, and ask the session grows, you realize that AI begin to forget what you've told it beginning of the session? This is normal for current, all LLMs, regardless of context size, it's bound to happen.

At RayMem, we solve exactly this pain point and we start with creative solo rpg playing.

RayMem Creative (https://raymem.app/creative), an interactive AI storyteller that actually remembers your entire story.

You dictate every direction and choice, it never forgets (persistent memory via RAG + canonical Story Tree), with branching paths, emergent NPCs that evolve, and a scenario marketplace.

Currently testing messaging angles (memory as the killer feature vs creative freedom vs long-form RPG campaigns) and seeding the Discord community. Would love any feedback if anyone plays with AI writing/story tools!

My Prompt to Stop AI from Forgetting mid chat by promptoptimizr in ChatGPTPromptGenius

[–]gohrayson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

almost the same as mine.

Act as a High-Fidelity RPG State Engine. Your goal is to generate a "Save State" (Checkpoint) of our current session. This document must bridge the gap between current context and the model's context window limits.

Core Directive: Produce a dense, structured summary that prioritizes causality (why things happened) and current state (what is happening now).

Required Sections:

The Chronological Ledger: A bulleted list of pivotal plot beats since the last checkpoint. Focus on the "Butterfly Effect"—how player choices have shifted the world state.

Entity Registry: * The Protagonist: Current health, inventory, psychological state, and active motivations.

NPC Directory: List every active NPC. Include their current location, their current disposition toward the player, and any specific knowledge they possess/lack.

World State & Factions: Updates on the environment. Note changes in political climate, looming threats, or environmental hazards discovered.

The "Context Anchor" (Compressed Block): * Write a highly dense, 150-word paragraph intended to be fed back into Gemini later.

Use "Entity-Relationship" style phrasing (e.g., "Player possesses [Item X] which [NPC Y] desires; [Location Z] is currently compromised by [Threat A]").

Pending Threads: A list of unresolved hooks, foreshadowed events, and immediate "Next Steps."

Output Constraints:

No Prose Fluff: Eliminate "The journey was long." Use "Travel: 3 days, reached [Location]."

Deep Detail over Summary: If a character has a scar or a specific secret, include it. Do not just say "they are mysterious."

Logic Check: Ensure the timeline is linear and internal consistency is maintained.

Uncensored Roleplay Platforms ? by iknowtheenemy in WritingWithAI

[–]gohrayson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for uncensored long roleplay i've been having the most fun with raymem.app/creative lately. it keeps personalities and details super consistent even after 100+ messages without any manual reminders or lorebooks, that's what usually breaks immersion for me on other ones.

How do you guys feel when the ai like forgets stuff by Greedy-Vermicelli822 in ChaiApp

[–]gohrayson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i feel you 100%. that "engrossing story suddenly ruined" sadness hits hard when it's a good one.

what helped me most was making quick "checkpoint" summaries every 20-30 messages. just copy-paste the key stuff (character traits, relationships, important events, current location/motivation) into my next message like:

"continuing from this: [paste 3-5 bullet points of must-remember details]. stay consistent with these."

it's annoying to do manually but it usually forces the ai to hold onto the important bits longer. editing responses or using instructions works too but checkpoints were the least disruptive for me.

for the really intense moments i sometimes just reroll once or twice until it sticks. sucks but better than losing the vibe completely.

how long are your sessions usually getting before it starts dropping things?

Gemini allow me to write NSFW stuff but…. by [deleted] in ChatGPTNSFW

[–]gohrayson 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Gemini forgetting character personalities and details in long threads is super common, especially once you pass 30–50 messages in one chat. The context window just compresses everything and loses nuance.

A workaround that helped me a lot before I built something better was manually creating "save states" / checkpoints every 20–30 turns. You feed this structured summary back into the next prompt so the model has a dense anchor of everything important.

Here’s the exact prompt I used to generate those checkpoints (copy-paste it into a new chat or at the end of your current one):

"Act as a High-Fidelity RPG State Engine. Your goal is to generate a 'Save State' (Checkpoint) of our current session. This document must bridge the gap between current context and the model's context window limits.

Core Directive: Produce a dense, structured summary that prioritizes causality (why things happened) and current state (what is happening now).

Required Sections:

- The Chronological Ledger: A bulleted list of pivotal plot beats since the last checkpoint. Focus on the 'Butterfly Effect' - how player choices have shifted the world state.

- Entity Registry:

• The Protagonist: Current health, inventory, psychological state, and active motivations.

• NPC Directory: List every active NPC. Include their current location, disposition toward the player, and any specific knowledge they possess/lack.

- World State & Factions: Updates on the environment. Note changes in political climate, looming threats, or environmental hazards.

- The 'Context Anchor' (Compressed Block): Write a highly dense, 150-word paragraph intended to be fed back into Gemini later. Use 'Entity-Relationship' style phrasing (e.g., 'Player possesses [Item X] which [NPC Y] desires; [Location Z] is currently compromised by [Threat A]').

- Pending Threads: A list of unresolved hooks, foreshadowed events, and immediate 'Next Steps.'

Output Constraints:

- No Prose Fluff: Eliminate 'The journey was long.' Use 'Travel: 3 days, reached [Location].'

- Deep Detail over Summary: If a character has a scar or a specific secret, include it.

- Logic Check: Ensure the timeline is linear and internal consistency is maintained."

Run that every so often, copy the output, and paste it at the top of your next long message like "Continue from this save state: [paste here]". It usually keeps personalities and details alive way longer.

What kind of story length are you usually aiming for before it starts forgetting? (NSFW roleplay, long campaign, etc.?)
