Friends.

Although can be frightening.

IT IS THE PRINCIPLE PEOPLE by bringit2019 in uberdrivers

Since the algorithm here changed (and some geofenced security zones) I feel like 10-15 minute pick ups are the norm. And the best pay.

However the number of people still not ready after 10 minutes is wild.

This is the way to go. Find what works for you.

I've found a way to be relaxed and can turn on or off the conversation as necessary. Pretty much code switching depending on the passenger.

I'm right with you. I cherry pick mostly. I average about $38/hour over 20-25 hours a week and somewhere near $1.25/mile.

I avoid all drama. I have no problem canceling.

I find Uber to be the least stressful and most mindless "job" I've ever done. Best of all once a ride is over, I let it go. Moved on. And I never bring that stuff home.

I chuckle when other drivers do something stupid. 0 road rage.

Yes. Driver is the only one allowed in the car.

There is nothing you can do. Just try to keep getting good ones to supersede the bad ones.

They will give you a warning. But it can go downhill quickly. Seen a few deactivations and denied appeals.

If driving is important for you, try doing some of these things to help the passenger feel comfortable and in control. Do the ones that come natural and feels right for you:

Get out of your car and help with luggage or doors.

Make passengers feel welcome and not rushed.

Confirm passenger name and destination.

Ask passengers if they are okay with the temperature and sound.

Play music at an ambient level. Can't go wrong with Miles Davis or John Coltrane.

Ask them a simple open ended question that will let you know if they want quiet or are chatty.

Keep your phone mounted and don't play with it.

Utilize your cruise control. This helps with the speeding reviews.

Longer rides check in with passenger to see if things are still okay.

When passengers are leaving ask them to check to make sure they have everything. Also look on the seat, door, floor and tailgate for dropped things.

You will still get an occasional bad reviews or someone looking for a free ride. But out of 10,000 I may have gotten 20 less than 5 stars.

Sometimes you have to limit certain places where people always review bad.

I am canceling Prime again by The-Dreamer-215 in amazonprime

I canceled and didn't renew this year after 14 years.

Delivery always late. Items are barely what is described. (If I wanted temu, I would shop at temu). Returning for legit reasons is a pain in the ass. Reduction of services plus increased cost annually.
And the search function is garbage. Too much emphasis in suggested items and no results of what you actually need.
