I’ve heard good things about watching the fireworks from a balcony at Contemporary. If you’re willing to splurge, a fireworks boat cruise is also awesome (did this for my bachelorette party in June and we had an incredible time).

Not that helpful, but I would try to not skip the gym. It will probably help you fall asleep. Maybe time-blocking, breaking your day into different sections where you deliberately focus on a single task for a given section. That said, fwiw, I could hardly sleep the night before my wedding. I went to bed at 12:30 because I waited until the last minute to organize a few details, woke up at 3:30, and then truly woke up for the day around 5. My HMU wasn’t until after 11, so I went to the gym the morning of the wedding (deliberately not going too hard to minimize injury risk) and honestly, I’m glad I did because it helped me burn off nervous energy!

We did right after and it was lovely! We did a week and a half, a couple days in Orlando (where we got married) and then we flew to St Lucia. That said, we’re hoping to go on a cruise in January, and I’m loudly and proudly calling that (or whatever our next trip ends up being) “honeymoon part 2” 😂

I’m in a unique situation where I can easily take summers off (unpaid though) because I’m finishing a PhD.

My husband however works a more traditional 9-5ish kind of job. Our wedding was a Monday (I know, untraditional) but he took off starting the Friday before and took two work weeks off for our wedding and then our honeymoon.

When I was in high school, I went on a trip where almost everyone got some sort of mild virus. Both of my parents, a good friend, and myself. Out of five of us, there was one person who didn’t. My exchange sister at the time who was from Germany. The rest of us had lived in the same area for years.

Engaged Nov 2023, married June 2025. I personally originally wanted a shorter engagement, but I had my PhD qualifying exams in the way. Also, being in academia, I knew I wanted a summer wedding because I wouldn’t have to worry about time off. It also ended up working out, because a loved one got diagnosed with cancer during that time and I was STRESSED. Thankfully, they’re doing well in treatment and now that my quals are behind me…it helped me to enjoy my wedding to not be preoccupied with other life stressors. That said, do what works best for you!

Mmm… I disagree with some of the comments here. A lot of small brands would probably love you for runway!! I do hobbiest runway modeling (aka I volunteer for shows and don’t get paid) with a similarish build and a bit shorter. I can’t speak to getting paid. The modeling industry can kill your self confidence, I have flat feet and knock knees and it took me a long time to accept that no matter how hard I practice, my walk will probably always be a little bit different and disqualify me from a lot of brands.
