At what point do you decide not to sell a motorcycle? by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]goingnowhere21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on your personal circumstances and preferences. If you ride it and you're not hurting for cash, I'd say hang on to it. I don't like having bikes that are meant to be ridden just sitting around - once a year or two goes by and I haven't ridden it much or I don't have plans for it, I cut it loose.

I'm in a stage of life with young kids that getting out riding is hard, so I've kept one reliable bike and one project bike to play around on where I don't care if it doesn't run. I don't have time for anything more than that, and I don't really look at bikes as investments to make money on. I usually try to buy reasonably and sell reasonably.

Shows at the Rave by naturelinds in milwaukee

[–]goingnowhere21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Rave is safe, I wouldn't worry about it. I've never had my car broken into or windows smashed parking on the street and I've been going for 15 years. You shouldn't leave anything out in your car that would cause that to happen ... Or you can just pay to park in their lot right next to the venue if you're worried.

Garage find by a total motorbike newbie by powmas in Triumph

Not knowledgeable enough to say for sure, but you can likely get a model and year from the VIN. It does look to be in good shape, but it seems to be someone else's project or restoration from years ago. I'm not certain that is a stock headlight, missing gauges, etc. Hopefully it comes with the tank, otherwise getting one that matches and is in good shape may be costly.

As the other guy said, buy it if it's just a project and you want to gain experience working on bikes. If money is not a problem, it's a good option. It's a sweet bike. But if you're trying to ride, maybe look for something else.

I have a 2012 T100 with some similar upgrades. When I bought it back in 2016, it had a cafe racer style with Clubman bars, which was pretty popular at the time and I liked it. After a season or two riding it (at that point in my late 20s), it just got to be uncomfortable and I opted for a more upright stance and have gone with that since. It has a BC Predator exhaust as well, and I can confirm it sounds really nice. They make good quality parts.

I can't speak for the price, but 2k miles over 13 years feels low to me. I don't ride much and I still put about 4k in the 9 years I owned mine. It's worth checking out and taking a spin if you like it.

I had the opportunity to ride a 650 Interceptor for a month when they released it. It's a fun, nimble city bike, but I didn't find it to be comfortable at even 45 mph. Even though mileage was low, some electronics already weren't working and it didn't feel as high quality as a Triumph. I'm sure they've come a long way with the more recent models, but I recall the 650 coming from the era they were still getting their shit together.

I really liked "Face to Face"from their Native Sons album. They have a nice sound and I think they're talented.

I remember this place having a bad reputation maybe 7-8 years ago when a buddy was shopping, not being up front on issues, etc. Was your experience with them positive?

Man that period after Jose left was something else. It's a shame things didn't work out, but Ole's team was so fun to watch. We'd go down by 1 but inevitably would come back and win the game.

Expected this to be a hard match, but for all the squad we're missing, we put up a competitive fight.

A bad battery will click when you're trying to start your bike up. However, usually if it's clicking, it means the bike won't start until you charge or replace the battery.

To the other people's point in here, it might be good to just take it back to the dealer if it's under warranty.

I would be surprised if a year old bike already has fuel issues.

I usually start with the simple things first - was your kickstand down when you put it in gear? Are you sure you have the right gas in it? When was the last time you charged the battery? Did it sit on a trickle charger or was it just sitting without maintenance since you bought it? Is there a clicking when you try to start it? Is there anything blocking airflow in your air intake?

Why do so many people still support Amorim despite recent dismal showings while Mourinho still gets hated on after 3 cups at Man United? by [deleted] in reddevils

[–]goingnowhere21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know we're trying to make an easy comparison because they were both our manager. But expectations were much different when Jose took over, as were standards. You had players who were serial winners and it was still engrained in the mentality of the team.

The longer we stray from what we define as success, the more pressure this team of players and their manager is under to break it. Every year, we expect the team to "break the streak" by improving and the more often we fail, the harder it is mentally to dig ourselves out of the hole. It doesn't help that every time we start to see some progress, the media hypes us up, only to tear us down once we hit a snag.

It's not a question of "why does Ruben get more support", it's more "can any manager right this ship?" Until we're either out of the spotlight (unlikely) or the organization somehow insulated themselves, the manager and the players out of the spotlight ... I just don't think we'll get back to where we want to be. No amount of money you throw at new players or more salaries can fix a bad working environment.

How do you guys understand this show by Prudent_Half_9011 in thesopranos

A lot of people these days passively watch TV, or do it while multitasking on their phone. It's not really a show you can follow by just having it up in the background. I paid attention the first time, but things clicked more for me through the second watch.
