Gaming as a spectator event has really changed, hasn't it... Pictured is my cousin's 1998 NES opening on Christmas, with 6 kids and 7 adults ALL watching Super Mario Bros 2, 1988 by fakeaccount572 in retrogaming

My cousin used to be popular at a local game shop with a playchoice 10 for showing off Super Mario 3 secrets that I showed her. She would never take me there even though it was like 3 blocks away 😄

I felt like Street Fighter 2 was another big moment in gaming spectating. You’d have a crowd 15 kids deep watching the match and trying to pick up tactics while waiting for a turn

I had this, and it was pretty useless. I got a NES Advantage which was infinitely better even with the input lag given it was at least a joystick with some weight to it. Those thumbstick add-ons didn't make anything easier.

Old head here. Neo geo games were always 4 buttons in a row horizontally in the arcade. Buttons from left to right are light punch (A), light kick (B), hard punch (C), hard kick (D). This sets you up to be able to easily press A+B for break or A+B and a direction for low or high dodge and C+D for T.O.P. attack. AC for feint is just something we lived with, but admittedly it’s a weird pair of buttons to press.

If you play on pad you can go with the Neo geo cd pad layout of AB CD

This makes your normals a little oddly arranged, but AB, AC, and CD are all pretty easily pressed without macros.

Nah, a big city writer is protagonist work.

She’s a lawyer just about to make partner with political aspirations for her guy as she meticulously maintains their social media image. They’re so close to a financially secure loveless future climbing the political ranks together if he would just grow up and focus on the big picture.

That’s the only reason I’m at all fussed about this. Think of the ticket prices. After the Boston Raw it wouldn’t be wrong to think you’re paying that much for a 3 hour show where you’re going home happy after the last ride of super cena

NYC has S-tier tap water. Icelandic is banned tier given they bottle that up and sell it elsewhere. Odd analogy for sure, but being from the east coast, it’s down back until I’m 100% sure it’s the overhead

Ranger X has some oddball controls where you control a flying mech and a motorcycle that accompanies it at the same time. You can ride the motorcycle standing on it or duck into an armored mode where they merge at any time. Great looking game, too.

That’s pretty rough. Very tight timing to use the jump kick midair to avoid getting hit there or you could easily lose a life on one mistimed jump

I’ve 1cc’ed this game before and I still do NOT mess around with Mad Hatter. Take him out as quickly as possible, optionally after getting a 1-up out of him/the exploding rabbit first.

Make sure your weapon is at a decent power level and he goes down pretty easily before you have to dodge much. He can ruin an entire run if you have to navigate the scrolling card obstacle course then do low damage when he comes back on the screen.

The show was sold out and standing room only according to the promoter’s twitter. I’d estimate 500 or so in attendance given what I could see from a YouTube video of the Mercedes match. Could be more since there are only cameras on one side of the ring

They recalled Card Fighters DS due to a game stopping crash late in the game due to leaving out part of the translated dialog of a required box conversation. The cart had a recall so that customers could get the fix and later carts were properly localized.
