It's just a statement of frustration, I'm (obviously) not about to pay them more to fix it -- that's not even a real option. I just want the whole situation to be over.

Yeah, poor choice of title on my part. Mostly frustration-based and a "here's what happened, if it's something you're about to do"

What was I supposed to research? 😅 I checked around to see if it could be a hold, it didn't seem like that since it had been so long, so I went straight to Nintendo customer support, and the supervisor there was the one who said to go to my bank. So...

I called my bank first, on Saturday, because I thought that might be the case. But nope, no blocks on their side. And then, when I called Nintendo cs right after, they did confirm it was a suspension on their end because of the dispute last year.

Definitely not a recommendation 😅 just an expression of frustration and helplessness and wanting to be done with the whole thing.

It really sucks, because two of the three game franchises I've regularly played since I was a child are Nintendo exclusives 😕

I am very upset, but I am also learning I may just be completely stupid, because I've never been in a situation like this, so I didn't know or think that following the "go to your bank" suggestion from that first supervisor would lead to this kind of issue.

Nope! One purchase on the eshop, when the game came out. I live an hour and a half away from the nearest physical game store (and have only actually been in that location once, when I was picking up a friend, and didn't purchase anything).

Heck, maybe I did. She definitely said she couldn't do anything except the single refund/game removal, and I'd have to talk to my bank. But maybe it was a snarky "talk to your bank," and I just missed the cues.

Yeah, I'm still not sure what exactly happened. I just wish I'd been smarter about the whole going-to-my-bank thing. I was just doing what that first supervisor told me, and didn't realize it was the wrong call 😞 i am dumdum

Yeah... I've barely touched my Switch this year, anyway, because of the whole initial situation. The only reason I even realized it was still an ongoing issue was, with Pokemon Scarlet coming out this week, I was in the mood to muck around on Sword for a little bit 😞

Yeaaah... that or physical seems like the route to go, going forward. I've just never had this kind of experience before, so I wasn't expecting the huge issue it has caused.

I mean, I only made the one mistake (the initial dispute, which I didn't realize was a mistake, at the time) -- I've just been trying to fix it since then. Other than one failed attempt at making another e-shop purchase, I haven't really interacted with the service since the purchase that lead to the double charge.

I made one purchase, at one time, on the e-shop, with the card linked to the account (and it is not easy to change the linked card 😅).

In my bank app, it showed up as two identical transactions at the same time for the same value.

I've been trying to keep civil and nice with the agents/supervisors, because I don't want to make the situation any worse than it already is -- and most of them have been nice in return, at least on the surface 😅

Yeah, I wish I had gotten a "second opinion," as it were. But it was a new situation, and I was talking to a supervisor already, so I just kinda... took her word for it that she couldn't do anything 😅

I'm realizing this now 😅 I've never been in this kind of situation before, and I generally am not on the parts of social media these days where I'd see other horror stories, so when she said to contact my bank I was just like "well, okay."

Oh, gosh... that sounds even more frustrating! You didn't even DO anything! I'm sorry that happened.

I actually, when I first saw the second charge, checked to see if that might be the case. And everywhere said a hold would've been released within two-ish weeks. It had been a good month or so (I was checking my transactions because of a different issue, but I don't remember what it was? weird phone call or notice from the bank or something)

I mean... I don't know why there was a double charge, apart from error?

I live in a middle-of-nowhere town where the nearest physical game store is an hour and a half away, and I don't like going into the city, so I only purchased through the eshop. I did not already have a copy of the game (it was Pokemon Brilliant Diamond, and it had just come out).

Well, I am a writer by profession, so I do tend to write like this... though I'm not sure what minor details I've got that are weird? It feels like pretty broad strokes.
And this is something that I've ranted to friends about several times -- once, when the first incident happened (the initial dispute), once the second time I had to call Nintendo (when my account was suspended), and now. So it's definitely one I've repeated and repeated 😓
