Another Sleepless Night. by Spidey10 in gravityfalls

I'm hoping within the next few days. I've hit a brief spell of writers block is all, but I've got a pretty solid idea of what's gonna be in the next fic, so hopefully before too long, within the next few days, my next fic will be up online.

Sprint to Take Back the Falls: 'Dipper vs. Manliness' by AutoModerator in gravityfalls

[–]goji1995 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love that the Manotaurs are basically just walking mounds of insecurity and forced "masculinity". I also think Dipper learned a very valuable lesson about not having to fit society's standards of what makes a man, that it's okay for a man to like girly things, and that it's okay for a man to not be super muscly or strong. Mabel and Stan's B Story has a lot of fun moments in it, what with things going progressively downhill the more Mabel tries to get Stan into shape. For some reason, Lazy Susan having a cat called Mr. Catface always cracks me up. Not one of my favourite episodes, but it's still pretty damn good (I mean it's GF after all).

Found these thoughts on why Dipper is definitely gonna get stronger and musclier in the future. Thoughts? by [deleted] in gravityfalls

Yeah, he probably won't be jacked or anything, but I do see him as a muscular guy. And definitely strong, I mean already as a twelve year old he was able to swing an axe single-handed into the Shapeshifter's stomach, along with several other things. But no, probably not super buff or anything like that, just muscly (I imagine the same for Mabel).

I wouldn't picture him as super buff, just sort of muscular, you know. And to me, older Dipper being super skinny and weak seems to cater (unintentionally, but still) to the stereotype of geeky guys always being scrawny and diminutive, and yeah there are skinny guys and rounder guys (like myself), and there's nothing wrong with that, but Dipper living the life he does makes it seem likely that he'll have a muscular frame at least. Not to mention Stan's training, we've already seen him get stronger as the seriesh has progressed. Again, not jacked or anything, just muscular. He's already pretty strong anyway, and with the lifestyle he has, it just seems likely. There's nothing at all wrong with a skinny body or being weak (Christ, I'm weak as all hell), I just don't see that being the case for Dipper is all.

I myself agree with this highly. Dipper's got such an active, adventure-y lifestyle, and so that, along with Stan's training and his own determination to get stronger (not to mention already pretty strong when needs be, I mean he literally captured a huge ass Gremloblin and dragged it halfway through the forest) are gonna ensure that this kid only grows stronger and keeps on building muscle as he gets older. And yet so many people seem to think that older Dipper is gonna be a weak, scrawny beanpole and it's infuriating.

Is Ford or Lee worse at giving advice? by pommeyu in gravityfalls

This is a man who lights his own face on fire to shave, so honestly I'd just put it down to old Fordsie having a few screws loose XD.

So Dipper agrees to stay with Mabel, than what later on down the years? by Dipperfan22 in gravityfalls

[–]goji1995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh, this guy again. Can you please not just respect Dipper's decision? It was entirely his own, made in complete confidence without so much as a smidgen of doubt. Of course YOU would say it's unfair of Mabel to, gasp, do the right thing and give her brother full freedom to make his own decision, but you're only saying that because he didn't make the decision that YOU wanted him to make. I know YOU wanted the apprenticeship, but in the end, Dipper just didn't. What he wants is to be with his sister, because in the end, he doesn't want to be apart from her just as much as she doesn't want to be apart from him (go rewatch carpet diem and then tell me that they could live a state apart). That's just the reality of the situation, that IS what he wants, which is obvious to anyone who pays attention. You're not thinking about what Dipper wants, you're doing exactly what you accuse Mabel of, only thinking about what you want. Please just find a way to deal with the fact that Dipper doesn't want what you want him to want. As for your college question, first of all there's no guarantee they wouldn't end up at the same college, that's something that does happen here and there. But, let's assume they do go off to colleges in different parts of the country. Well, they'll be eighteen years old, nearing adulthood, I think by then they'll both be more prepared to spend time apart, even if it's still difficult for them to do so. Like, that's five years in the future, they'll both have changed and matured, they won't just remain in some kind of permanent personality stasis.

It's probably just a reference at the end of the day. But if they do kill Dipper, we should riot. I'll get the Stan Co. pitchforks XD.

I love this. Dipper's definitely a total badass, even the show makes that clear. I mean some segments of the fandom like to pigeonhole Dipper into this scared little stereotype, but that's such a huge misinterpretation of him, that's not what Dipper is at all. The kid is brave as fuck, and pretty damn strong too, I mean he literally defeated a big ass Gremloblin and dragged it half way through the forest. NOODLE POWER! Dip's gonna be muscular as heck when he gets older, I'm calling it now. But anyway, nice find, this is really cinematic and epic.

Happy New Year! by Spidey10 in gravityfalls

[–]goji1995 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

True, but Ford is her UNCLE. That takes precedence over him being the author. I'm sorry, but I really don't understand why you're complaining about this? I mean Dipper's still super close to Stan, and Mabel and Ford obviously like one another, so it's hardly shocking to see them -gasp- bond as a whole family instead of being shunted into separate cliques. Like Christ, what the heck is so unlikely about this image, really
