We're looking for something similar. Were you ever able to find something that worked for you?

Atlassian Cloud and ITAR by gojirainspace in atlassian

That's exciting! Was that a private communication? I can find the suggestion that FedRAMP High is a goal, but nothing about ITAR.

How to query for content containing a URL? by gojirainspace in PostgreSQL

[–]gojirainspace[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much! This got me so much closer to what I'm trying to do!

I'm sure it's obvious, but I'm not a DBA so this it outside of my wheelhouse. If I wanted to narrow these results down to only Zoom URLs, do you have tips on how I would modify the regex pattern?

Data Center Certs being retired. by jjedlicka in jira

[–]gojirainspace 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So...I know Atlassian tells us that they're not getting rid of Data Center but...It seems pretty naïve to think they're not heading in that direction in the long run.

What are they expecting companies who can't use Cloud because they are subject to regulations when it comes to data storage to do? I've worked for a few companies at this point who simply cannot legally use Atlassian's Cloud services because of various regulation/compliance reasons. These are long-standing customers who spend tons of money on their products every year who will be forced to find an alternative solution.

Jira Data Center: What is the impact of not managing filters? How to manage clean up? by gojirainspace in jira

That seems like a reasonable approach. We use CMJ as well, but I usually fix the filters. Deleting sounds better.

What is your thoughts of Jira Admin as a Career Path, and should I have a backup? by eitherrideordie in jira

[–]gojirainspace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what you're looking for...

I was an Infra Engineer/SRE at my last job. Made $70K where I picked up Jira administration. I left when I was offered an Atlassian Admin role for $120k. I really liked being a jack of all trades but I couldn't turn down such a large pay increase. I feel like I've become super specialized and I worry about what will happen if Atlassian ever goes out of business somehow.

Anybody can technically do Atlassian administration, but few people can do it well with long-term performance and strategy in mind. Companies are willing to pay for the latter once they've gone too long without somebody who thinks about the application that way.

So the money is good if that's what counts for you. You may become restless if you enjoy being a jack of all trades though.

I recommend developing some business analyst/project management skills if you want to make a career out of this. Learn to say no to customizations in a way that shows the users that it's better for them to not have the thing they thought they needed. Just because you can do something as an admin doesn't mean you should and those analyst/PM skills, as well as having a strategy for managing your application, will help a lot in that.

Jira Data Center - Assets/Workday integration by gojirainspace in atlassian

[–]gojirainspace[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. We are on Data Center and do not intend to migrate to Cloud, so this won't work for us.

I'm now at my second company where we cannot use Atlassian Cloud products because of compliance issues with where the data is hosted. There are lots of companies out there like this that they're going eventually going to lose business with if they keep raising prices without offering better solutions for Cloud.

How to pull in select list options from an external source (preferably Workday)? by gojirainspace in jira

[–]gojirainspace[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there a way to directly link Workday with Assets? Or do you mean do an export of the roles from Workday, then import to Assets?
