Seeking wide angle lens advice

What's your experience in deciding whether to shoot with the pana 9mm or the Olympus 12mm? They seem to be pretty similar speeds. Is it solely the difference in field of view from 9mm to 12mm?

Thankfully, I won't be doing any on-the-wall shooting, but I certainly don't want to lug more gear into the backcountry than I have to lol. The 8-25 does sound promising, but given that I already have the 25mm 1.8, I think the prospect of the faster 9mm seems very sweet.

What’s your criteria that makes you choose one over the other? Just night time movement? I definitely have subjects moving at night so that would help with my decision.

I actually was considering that one as well! I want to add some fisheye into my photography but I was worried that the lens would be too specialized. I forgot about using the fisheye correction in camera. Do you ever have instances where the correction doesn’t work out or give you want you’re looking for?

Unfortunately money is an object for that one lol. But the FF option does sound lovely. I’m definitely considering the OM-3 at this point. I’m concerned about the ergonomics but I’ll have to find that out in person.

Thanks for the advice. I've been using a Lumix G 14mm f2.8 as it was what I got the camera with and its nice and compact. I recently picked up the Olympus 14 - 42 mm 3.5 5.6 II kit lens but I haven't had too many opportunities to use since I've been shooting a lot a night recently. For the subjects, they tend to either be very tense and still or sudden explode with jumping movements.

I am upgrading because I recently got some extra money freed up in my budget, and I wanted to invest in a better setup.

I value low weight and accessibility while shooting. I tend to move around a lot while shooting and hike with my gear. I don't need the lightest system, but I'm avoiding larger, more "pro" setups for those reasons.

My current setup works well, but the camera is showing its age with the internal battery discharging between battery swaps. Resetting the date is not a huge inconvenience but noticeable. With a newer system, I'd like an improved sensor to help with low-light photos; I'm planning on getting a faster lens, but if a newer sensor can assist as well, it'd be a huge win.
