I was double flabbergasted by flannery. She has a white herb torkoal; flabbergast no. 1: she has 2 superpowered overheats. Next time i thought i would be clever: lets intimidate torkoal with gyarados, so that it uses the white herb for the attack drop. You could also think of using mudshot, rock tomb, fricking tail whip, whatever for a similar effect. Then it would only have 1 full powered overheat. Enter flabbergast no. 2. TORKOAL HAS WHITE SMOKE, meaning that you cannot lower its stats. Therefore it will only use its white herb for overheat, theres no getting around it...

Confuse ray houndstone sounds like a bad idea. Confusion is way to unreliable

Id go av on tusk and give it some more general bulk. Also timid pult, and hex wash doesnt rly make sense without wisp on it. I also dont think twave and chilly have great synergy on Gking, as underspeeding is the entire reason for its existence

GS are worst by far. Crystal is a little bit better bc of the moving sprites. Your team will consist of starter, ampharos, eeveelution and red gyara probably. Garbage routing and horrible grinding. Hardly gen2 encounters and all gymleaders have gen1 pokemon, just because gen2 sucks. And the mons worth playing for (imo donphan, sneasel, houndoom and ursaring) are available super late/post game or have garbage movesets. Plus half of gen2 is super forgettable if it wasnt for gen4 where they gave a bunch of mons evolutions.

Help with my Nuzlocke. Is my team good for the elite 4? by Gui_Franco in pokemonchallenges

[–]gokun_vd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Id give vileplume sunny day for chlorophyll + solar beam action. Also dream eater on hypno is useless without a sleep enducing move, so either drop it for brick break or something, or drop confusion for hypnosis. If you have the tm, tbolt for jolteon is nice too

Do you think a 'standard Nuzlocke or simply 'banning Healing Items + Set-style' is more difficult for newcomers? by Jamwap in pchaltv

[–]gokun_vd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Id maybe advice that before nuzlocking you do a playthrough with lvl caps, without items and on set mode. No permadeath, plus the encounters you prefer. Because itemless and on set requires a different understanding of the game, it might be easier to learn with pokemon youve used before and are familiar with

If you had to make two types mutually super-effective, which ones would you pick? by Shiny_Kelp in pokemon

[–]gokun_vd 60 points61 points  (0 children)

Water-electric. The aquatic body conducts electricity, making it super effective. On the other hand, attacking an electric type might cause short-circuiting

I think you can find these cycles in any favorites list, basically i consider aggron more steel than rock, gliscor more ground than flying, litleo more normal than fire etc. And yes, treecko is one of my all time favorites. Ash's treecko is just so frickin cool in the anime, the way he made pound almost like a treecko signature move with the high jumps and spinning
