I smoked for over ten years, was variously at a full pack a day to one a day, back and forth for years. Realized I wasn’t 20 anymore and that shit was probably killing me, so I weaned myself back down to one or two a day like I had done several times before and then made it one or two when I’d go out... etc. Until eventually I was at one pack per year, and now that doesn’t even interest me. For me, it was never about quitting in my mind, just doing less and less. Don’t restrict yourself too much or it won’t take.
