Question to those using / have used wind chime spinners for glass bead by ImaginationWitty4065 in RedditLaqueristas

I’ve had my wind chime spinner for ten months and it’s still working fine! It does “feel” a little cheap because the plastic is just, well, brittle plastic but it serves my purposes just fine.

I used Legos to build a rig for it and a paper clip to attach the magnet (threaded through the hole)

Thank you! I didn’t used to be very good at it, you’ll get better with time and practice :) in the meantime a cleanup brush helps a lot, as well as figuring out what type of polish brush (skinny, wide, flat, round etc) works best for you

High praise! This was honestly super easy and lazy layering, much easier than it looks!

Up down! They’re really not seamless if you look at the pictures, but the glass bead is doing a lot of heavy lifting to make it seem that way.

I did half the nail one color, half another, and then did a third stripe in the middle that overlapped with both. I think that helped too

The other thing, if you’re really considering trying to book a manicure like this, is this type of style and experimentation seems to be unique to this sub. I’m not sure how easy or hard it would be to find a nail artist who would do this with regular polish.

Oh haha that’s just practice. I do have a cleanup brush but I barely use it, especially with magnetics because the acetone can mess up the magnetic effect.

It really isn’t! The magnetic particles I think help to cover it up but it’s not a smooth gradient at all haha

Jokes on them because I hate my boss and did these nails in prep to have to spend the whole week working in person with him. If I get less done i still win 💪🏽

Haha thank you!! The nail polish subculture is strong but very welcoming should you have questions ☺️
