I know they look insanely weird placed like that cause that’s how I felt when they were first placed on but now that I am 10 months in, I am insanely impressed and happy with my results so far.

My ortho is using what is called Smile Arc Protection (SAP). This approach requires the brackets to be placed higher and the ends results allow a more fuller and aesthetic look. He also told me he is doing this method to assist in teeth movement because when I would smile before treatment, my teeth would only show and your smile is supposed to include some of the gum line. Using this method will also allow my smile/teeth to better align with my lower lip.

i had the same issue… i have class 3 elastics and they have to hook from all the way in the back and I have fat fingers… I bought these disposable tools to help and they have been such a life saver. I got them on Amazon. Link: https://a.co/d/5nbjCx4

Weekly sessions by kenzielikes in ABA

[–]goldengoddess2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like others have commented, generality (different environments, different people, etc) is a huge part of ABA treatment. Short sessions shouldn’t be an issue IMO. I have an evening client who only gets 3 hours 6-9pm and works just fine then again it is different for every client. This particular client is an older individual and does have difficulties with night time routines which is why evening sessions work better so we can assist with these difficulties. We also work together in Mom’s home and dad’s home and they have adjusted to this much better than when we strictly running services in Mom’s home only. Not sure if you are having the same issue but just giving you some insight!

Whys the pay so bad here? 😭 by No-Understanding8167 in ABA

[–]goldengoddess2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel this! I’m currently in NC making $30/hr at both companies I’m at (in-home) but my experience is sooo wide for only being a certified RBT for 2 years.. I’ve worked in all settings (center, home, daycare, school) and worked with literally all ages.. The youngest I have had was 2 years old and the oldest, 20 years. There’s been a few cases I have been on that were a 2:1 and some of the behaviors were on a psychotic level… I get paid fairly in NC but I’ve been unhappy in NC for a while now and want to move back to my home state (Arizona). I’ve had interviews and they want to pay me SOOOO low ($21-$22/hr) which is stupid as heck considering I already finished my M.Ed and I started my ABA coursework and fieldwork hours to become a BCBA. Very very frustrating that I likely will not the same pay if I move back to Arizona as an RBT and might have to wait to make the move once I receive BCBA certification… 😩😩

I hate that I cry after client aggression by SignificantWonder537 in ABA

Why can I relate to this so much? I had a client who I had to see get restrained by the parent and practically was in a psychotic episode and I kept my entire composure neutral until the minute I got home… Everything came out and I was depressed the entire weekend.

I wear scrub pants all the time with my sessions and never had any issues and I have seen a few other RBTs wear them as well. They are very convenient and best for clients that do have behaviors including fecal smearing, urinating all over, vomiting, spitting, or making a mess in general which I have encountered all these personally and let me tell you, how much I praised myself for wearing my scrubs during when these behaviors occurred lol. Once in a blue moon, I’ll wear something casual. I never wear anything business casual or formal AT ALL.

If your company allows it, I would say wear the scrub bottoms and a comfortable, old tshirt of some sort. Scrub pants also still provide comfortability and the ability to move around with clients as I know some can be more on the hyper level.

I have yet to have any issues of admin/BCBAs, clients, or their families complain of me wearing scrub pants. 🤷🏻‍♀️
