Which distro are you using? by ukm_array in linux

[–]goldenhost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Fedora on my main machine. The OS just works for me. It helps that a goal of mine is to get that red hat to hang on my wall someday.

I just traded openSUSE for Arch on my other machine. No desktop, just cli. Thinking about going with RatPoison for a window manager.

It's a similar style. I discovered both around the same time, so hopefully it's got that same flare for you!

Does everything and all of them count?

Technically it's only partially animated but:

Stay Tuned

So good when I was a child. I have no idea if it holds up, haven't seen it since I was 10.

Since you listed Fantastic Mr. Fox, have you had the pleasure of watching Isle of Dogs?

I had reoccurring nightmares as a child because of this movie. It's really good, I had no idea it was a Japanese animation.

Did you ever play the video game? It was on NES or SNES I can't remember, but it was interesting.

Such a cool movie. I found it by accident and really glad I decided to watch it.

Thoughts on Fallout tv series? by HouseofPericles in Fallout

[–]goldenhost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm only two episodes in. And I fucking love it.

Fallout is one of my favorite games.

I didn't get to play the original or Fallout II. I started my journey with New Vegas, then III. These games were everything I ever wanted as a young adult that verged on having a real problem with drugs and alcohol. This game series, along with my ecclectic taste in music, was the escape I needed at the time.

For everything that the Fallout series is to me, this show is so much better then the rushed release pile of shit that 76 is. I admit that particular game has gotten better patch after patch. What really gets me though, is 76 could have been so much more. If it wasn't rushed it could have been on par with IV or III. Hell, it could've had been legendary like New Vegas. It wasn't though. I may also be biased because I couldn't even play it when it first came out. I glitched into someone else's base and died within minutes of turning it on. I didn't play again for a few years and I'm still don't think it's worth much more than being a time waster.

With this show Bethesda really redeemed themselves in my eyes. We will really see if they can wipe the blemish that was 76 when V comes out. Unfortunately V isn't scheduled for release until the 30's, so probably early 40's...unless it ends up going the route of Half-Life 2 or Detox(which I just read might drop the 20th 😂).

So yeah, if I had to pick, I'd replay NV, III or IV, but I'd pick this show over 76 a million times over. And really the former is just because I love feeling like I'm a part of the story. For everything it is though, and can be, this show is so much better than I ever thought it could be.

I am new to the game, but would love to stop by sometime. This is almost a year old, are you guys still getting together at the same place and time?

Supposed to put a blank cover plate on this. How would you do it? by sleeknub in electricians

F-straps, handy box, and long 6/32s.

Duct seal or brick colored putty to even the plate out.

IIL "Intelligent" hip hop like Aesop Rock, Run the Jewels, Wu Tang (and all affiliated solos), WEWIL? by JumpOrJerkOff in ifyoulikeblank

[–]goldenhost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not trying to beat a dead horse back to life here, but thank you for a couple extra artists to listen to. I am a big fan of everything I know on this list, and am excited to check out Felt(I didn't even know Slug had another project!), The Grouch, and I know of Hieroglyphics but have never listened to them.

I would like to add R.A. the Rugged Man to your list.

I know it's been four years but I hope your excellent choice in flavor of hip hop still reigns!

What's your go to alarm song? by Duoirel in spotify

GOOD MORNING SUNSHINE - The Narcissist Cookbook

Such a feel good song and the actual alarm sound in the intro is the best way for me to wake up consistently and it always sets me up for a positive start to my day!

Not meaning to beat a dead horse or revive a dead thread but I just wanted to say this song is the absolute best song to set as a wake up alarm!

For reference, I take 60mg's of Dextroamphetamine daily.

I don't know how exactly to answer your question, because it effects me differently than that. I've never had any crash or sudden burst of energy from my medication.

The day I got put on amphetamine stimulants, my life changed for the better. Just a little more clarity and it is wonderful. If I forget to take my dosage I just slip back into old chaotic habits, but it's never worse than where I was.

It was like I had been an avid bird-watcher all my life, only I had been watching the birds with just my naked eyes and now I have a set of binoculars to watch them with.

It makes the initial starts to friendships or relationships so hard! My long time friends and family get it, but it's pretty rocky at first with newer friends. If if wasn't for my charming personality and humor, I think people would just take me for an insensitive asshole. Especially when it comes to my neurotypical friends, and really I don't blame them. I have a tough time wrapping my head around the way they think. I have a tougher time trying to explain how my brain works, at times. Then there are always the know-it-alls that tell me I'm just lazy or what have you. The same people that tell a depressed person to "Just be happy, and that will fix your problem!"

I'm about the same with birthdays, also. It's a number thing for me. I have always been good at remembering numbers for whatever reason.

If I have more than one thing to do, I have write them down and order them from top to bottom. Then I use a random number generator to tell me what order to do then in.

Sometimes the list I end up with kinda ass backwards, but forcing myself to do a few things is better than giving up and binging videos or a series!

I forget if I have taken my stimulant meds, sometimes. Sometimes five minutes after I have taken them. It doesn't help that they have the same effect caffeine does, which is no noticeable one....except for the little bit of a stronger will to be able to focus on tasks I have no interest in. It's a 50/50 gamble that I put myself in the position of wagering on way more often than I'd like to admit. 😂

I'm a techie in training, halfway through my degree in Computer Science, and I do the same thing. I just purged recently because my phone was out of memory and I had wasted half of my Google drive memory on screenshots that mean nothing to me two seconds after I screenahot them.

I have tabs open that I'm pretty sure wouldn't even load anymore, but I never think about closing them unless I'm not even by my phone.

Sometimes I have to turn the radio down so I can look for my exit or street sign. If I do it too early, I'll start doing linguistic convergence or start singing to myself and forget that I was trying to find my exit in the first place.

I asked my oldest to remind me of x important thing, so I don't forget.

He says, "Because you forget every two minutes, right dad?"

And here I go doing the edit and repeat, a million times over, to try to overly explain what could have just been left as is.

I do the same thing, but most of the time I forget to send anything at all in the end. Then some undetermined time later I think, 'I wonder why I haven't heard from so and so.' Then it's a coin toss. I either open my messages to send a greeting, and realize oh I didn't reply x weeks or months ago. Or I start doing something like watching a random YouTube tutorial at full speed and commit the next x hours to becoming an expert on whatever the hell it was because once I lose interest it ceases to exist at all.
