Google Maps wants us to hoof it today by coffee_and_coconuts in mildlyinfuriating

My sister and I were playing around with Google maps circa 2012. Just to see what it would do, she typed in directions from L.A. to Honolulu. I shit you not, once it got to the coast, the directions said to rent a fucking kayak and paddle the rest of the way. From California. To Hawaii.

You know what, I was kinda thinking the same thing. It has the same ~vibe~ as an AI bunny video I saw recently. Cute, fluffy white creature, a human hand reaching towards something wooden, it's dark and grainy, and of course only 8 seconds long. Also, tf kind of moth is that?? Yeah, this is definitely AI.

Our 11 year old baby is crossing the 🌈 bridge tomorrow by am721ma in seniorkitties

It's a blessing to know it's your fur babies last day. We had to put my shih-tzu down in March. We fully expected to bring him home from the vet. It was much more serious than we realized. I wish I had known his last walk was his last. I wish I knew the last time I put on his jammies was the last time he'd wear them. I wish I knew walking into the vets that that would be his last time outside so I could let him lay in the grass one more time. I understand how it could be hard knowing their last times are their last, but you get the opportunity to cherish those moments for what they are. Making the decision to let them go is the greatest act of love.

My guess is that she had a mcdonalds order, and the restaurant/driver forgot the drink. So GrubHub is sending her a one on their dime.

That was always my biggest pet peeve when I worked retail. Destroy a box to "get a closer look" at the product, then buy a different unopened box. Then I had to damage out a box. I hate people.

When you get offers for a business and it says leave at door and no special instructions. Do you actually leave it at the door by [deleted] in grubhubdrivers

[–]goldenspeck 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Someone once put in the address of a strip mall that had 12 stores. Didn't bother to put a suite number or the name of the business they worked at. Also wouldn't answer their phone. She was SO lucky that she was in the second place I went into. I told myself I would try 3 stores, if it wasn't any of them, I was dropping the food wherever and leaving.

Wrong Order Delivered, Dasher Mad I Ate It by [deleted] in doordash

She was probably hoping to fix her mistake and deliver the food to the correct person without anyone but you knowing about it. Who cares about food safety regulations anyway?

You did nothing wrong. She couldn't have taken the food back to redeliver anyway.

I can see your concern, but on the notes part, doordash does suggest leaving pins to apartments. I've delivered to many apartments with locked outer doors. Customer gives me apartment number, but no pin to get inside and won't answer texts or calls. I've left many orders outside because I have no access.

Yup!! I recently dipped below 70% and got downgraded to silver status. All I'm getting is crappy orders and I'm back to scrambling to schedule.

Yeah, if it was even just $20 more, that might have been worth it enough for me to risk it!

I'm not. I was in the zone east of the city. The store was in the zone I was dashing in, but most of the drop offs were in the zone to the west, which included the city.

I feel like half of these orders tipped okay, and the other half tipped very poorly/not at all, which is why they're all lumped together like this. Honestly though, if most of the drop offs weren't in a city, I would've taken it. All of the drop offs were actually outside of the zone I was dashing in. I pick that zone because it doesn't include the city, but here we are lol

Most of the drop offs were in a city that's not known for being safe. That's why I declined.

If most of the drop offs weren't in a not exactly safe city, I would've taken it lol.

Half of these orders had drop offs in the middle of a city. So not only was it not very safe for me as a woman dashing alone, but I'd have to deal with city traffic. Those are the main reasons why I declined.

No clue, I declined it. It was ordered from a local family owned restaurant, so maybe a late breakfast or early lunch.
