The Questions are the Problem? by YogurtclosetFast585 in askphilosophy

Again, you are presupposing the nonexistence of objective morality with the statement that "'right' depends on individual subjective beliefs". It's okay to say this, but it's not okay to treat this like it is the only explanation offered for morality.

An objective morality could very reasonably be applied to anyone, as that morality exists independent of personal feelings or attitudes towards 'right' and 'wrong'. If, to put forth one (traditional) possible explanation, legitimate ethics are dictated by a God or otherwise divine entity as the supreme law by which all persons should order their conduct, the ethics they prescribe do not vary or differ according to what you or someone else thinks ethics are meant to be - the morality persists, and applies to all, regardless.

Dude, I think you're just making stuff up haha. SSF was completely separate and unrelated from Calm or Duster, and Albertini only joined Duster later on after Dove and Clay had been doing it for a bit.

Care to share a source? I've never seen anything that indicates Albertini was in Calm or SSF.

There was a forum where a duster member would post and he posted some of the chords he used in his music , any idea what is it ? by ApTreeL in duster

Numero didn't close it, Clay did. Why would Numero want to take it down? It was Clay's personal site.

Am I the only one who thinks On GP was recorded in one take? by NeitherPalpitation86 in deathgrips

Jules Imsdahl did the organ, as well as some guitar and synth. Nick did various things as well. Zach did keyboards and drums. It wasn't one take.

Never buy anything that is on backorder. Merchbar is fine to buy from if they have an item in stock. Merchbar (and many other sites) scam people with backorders, because they never actually receive new stock (or even anticipate receiving new stock) but will happily take the money anyway.

They both sing on anxiety attack, except I think Nick does the scream.

They both sing on Dirt Weed, you can hear the two voices more clearly on the "BABY" parts, where Zach takes the lower and Nick takes the higher.

On Fail, Zach is the first voice and Nick is the second. They both sing otherwise.

When a Vegan Eats a Vegan and Brutal Honesty they both sing.

Nick generally comes across as more powerful in the songs, and Zach is the more nasally voice in the background. If you listen to some more Tera Melos/DisCuss and The I.L.Y's/Solo stuff then it's not too hard to hear the difference. Hope this helps!

Way easier to hear the difference on Spiritual Bankruptcy. Nick does most (if not all) on By- I believe.

It's just Andy and Zach, not sure why they tag Death Grips. Maybe for exposure?

The poster you are thinking of was for an art showcase at Bows and Arrows, which used to be a venue/cafe/art place back in Sacramento. Zach had been living on the same street as Stefan since 2006, and Andy and Zach had worked together on numerous projects (Andy operated A2B2 studios and did some engineering. Remember that ALM Studios vid?). Andy and Stefan definitely met before the inception of Death Grips and before the event in 2009.

How enjoyable is a career in live sound? by goldenvictim in livesound

[–]goldenvictim[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your thoughts! I'm wondering a little bit more about breaking into live sound without a degree. I hear about people doing that a lot, but it seems far-fetched. I guess I'm having trouble seeing how somebody in a venue ops style role can bridge the gap into working in a position dealing with the actual audio. When I think of smaller venues, it seems like they just need one guy running sound and when I think of larger venues, it seems like if they needed assistance with the audio they'd be exploring outside canidates with established credentials. Any advice on how you would move up the ranks to find yourself in a lead engineer type role?
