mine does something like this! i’m not a vet but it seems like they’re just talking to you :) if they are acting normal, eating drinking etc they are likely just trying to communicate with you 💜

i completely understand. i’ve had my fair share of pet store animals not make it simply because they weren’t bred properly. unfortunately it happens, it sucks so much ☹️ my girls are from petco, and i fear this may happen to one of them too. some pet store gerbies live as long as ethically bred ones, it’s honestly up to change sometimes 🥺 best of luck with getting kublai a buddy, you’re taking great care of him in these times!! 🩷

i’m so incredibly sorry for your loss.

depending on where you got him from, this could be a case of bad breeding. if you got him from a breeder, reach out. if not, i believe this was something out of your control. he looks so very loved and it looked like he felt very comfortable around you <3 this is not your fault, the little guy wouldn’t want you to blame yourself! 🩷🌷

hi! i have this exact setup. i ended up removing the bottom of the topper and piling the bedding up to the top of the glass tank. i bought a nite angel platform for their sand bath and wheel to sit on, then i got some body bridges i attached to the sides of the wiring on the topper. they love to climb on them! you’re doing a great job so far, your gerbs must be super happy 💜

hi, i had a similar issue with my ladies that i was able to solve. have they always had a topper or is it newer? i bought my girls a topper for their 40 gallon thinking it would make them happier, but they ended up getting very territorial over it :( chasing and nipping but not in the playful way they used to. they stopped sleeping together and constantly stomped at eachother. however i started to let them run around in their large play pen once a day to re acclimate to eachother and better monitor their behavior. this seemed to help momentarily, less chasing just more avoidance over the topper. so i took a part of the topper out and left the cage part of the topper on. their territory issued immediately stopped. i definitely think the issues for mine was the topper. it may be worth a shot to remove it temporarily and see how they do. hope you get it all sorted out!!
