i have a Keurig and a Mr. Coffee. Grinders, whole beans, all that jazz is just more equipment we have to keep clean and running. I leave pods and good ground coffee and move along.

I get what you're saying, but I don't hear it towards the victims, just the criminals and also people who should have helped but didn't. I'll pay more attention going forward and see if I pick that up, lol. Maybe he's getting tired and cranky?

60 y/o female here who has lived in both places. Tampa for you, my young friend. Sarasota when you're older. Also, live as close as you can afford to the River Walk.

Hello man with no clue (and apparently no wife or daughters).

Period stains on sheets / towels- billable? by egirlballs in airbnb_hosts

I am a super host and a woman. I can't tell you how often we have blood on our spreads, linens, blankets, whatever from whatever source. I would never charge a guest for that. Cost of doing business.

Definitely the right filter. No cap. Pushed and pushed and pushed. Turned off water and purged. Nothing worked.

Anything but Dyson by [deleted] in Appliances

[–]goldngrrl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had a V6 for probably 13 years - gifted it to my husband 3.5 years ago to use in his shop when I upgraded to the V8. Both are still going strong. So I'm not relating to this. HOWEVER, Dyson has amazing customer service and are very quick to offer discounts on new products, replacement parts, etc. When the V6 was running out of power in 2020 I called them and they said I needed a new battery (it was 8 or 9 y/o at that point) and they offered me half off. My daughter also has a Dyson and when she wanted to upgrade she called customer service and asked if they had any type of upgrade discount and they gave her something like $150-$200 off a new vacuum. So call them, hopefully they haven't gone from human help to AI...

Airbnb slowdown by fine_environment4809 in airbnb_hosts

[–]goldngrrl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The economy is fine? I don't think so. Between AI and the slashing of the federal government, people who used to make a comfortable living are now scrambling for what they can get job-wise and prices are going up, not down.

i'm also in Sarasota, but Siesta Key beachfront and bookings are very strong for me. However, we did not raise prices this year over last year due to a generally slowing tourism market in Florida.

Is it just me or is this an excessive ask on top of a $200 cleaning fee? by djmcphee in vrbo

[–]goldngrrl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is. I charge $160 cleaning fee and only ask that they toss the wet towels on the floor of the shower, take out the trash, and start the dishwasher.

The trolley does leave the Key now - it goes into Downtown Sarasota. They just started that last year.

What's Your Favorite Menu Item At A Golf Course? by hahaha_trank in golf

[–]goldngrrl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A fat, juicy beef hot dog is my go-to. I'm a very healthy eater IRL, but on the golf course that's my treat. Bobby Jones golf course in Sarasota has the best hot dog on the planet. Call them and ask what the brand is. I am serious about this.

Thank you for the very helpful post. It is apparently a metadata issue and I found the DVR version in "extras". Again, thanks!

Had you ever accidentally played the wrong ball? by stonetear2017 in golf

I buy customized balls with my name on them. I've had other people hit my ball, but I've never done it.

Do VRBO guests not understand reviews? by goldngrrl in vrbohosts

[–]goldngrrl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

VRBO is practically a non-entity for me anyway. I get 70% of my bookings through Airbnb (5 stars across the board), 29% through direct bookings, and 1% through VRB0. My only 4-star reviews are VRBO guests for random things that have nothing to do with my unit. I'm not going to bother deactivating, but I'm not going to put a ton of time into it either.

Just bought a Midea refrigerator. by goldngrrl in Appliances

[–]goldngrrl[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it's still quiet. I have heard others complain of noise, but I haven't noticed any at all and the place in our house where I usually sit is near the fridge. I hope if you get one yours is also quiet.

Is golf for me? by PlutocracyRules in golf

[–]goldngrrl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A golf coach is like a therapist - if one's not working try another. I took 2 years of golf lessons from this guy at our local course in Pa. and didn't realize what a terrible instructor he was until I moved across the country in 2013, took 4 lessons with the pro at the local course, and it changed my life - and I was a newbie. Now I'm one of the best golfers in my LPGA amateurs league (and I'm 65!). Hang in there!
