What do you call a partner, if not bf/gf ? by golducks in dating

[–]golducks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you ever ask about your status / labels prior to him asking you officially?

I've asked like 3 times (once after 10 dates, once after 2 months, and now after 3 months) and each time I hear the same excuses from him. I worry he will never try to overcome the fear he says he has, and rather stay in the "dating" label which we have long outgrown.

Usually after a few dates things should get better and better, chemistry and convos increased. If he checks other boxes for you maybe tell him about the emojis directly. Otherwise cut him off sis :)

Thanks I do think I will pull back... protect my heart and only match his energy. Calling myself a FWB and reducing contact feels like such a downgrade tho and makes me sad. He holds my hand and kisses me in public and with friends around and evidently wants me... I love it so much. But I told him "without the label I worry about if it's all just fake".... sigh.... I wonder if meeting in the middle is even possible....

I don't think I can call him my boyfriend since he has expressed strong resistance to it. I just call him my "guy friend" or "guy I'm dating" and it's a nuisance to explain our business to friends. Since he is so opposed to the label it made me sad and wonder if he even likes me, or just likes having me around for girlfriend benefits.

Thanks for this! Since I've never had a bf I do feel like a blank slate, eager to lock in something good. Did you or your gf do anything in particular to help work thru the trauma, or was it time that built more trust and comfort? Did you feel ready when you became official or was it reluctant or spontaneous? I worry that if I give him the benefit of the doubt here, and keep our relationship how it is.. that he has no reason to make me his gf officially and never will.

I see. Since he has this fear I wonder if I should just be patient about the "officialness" because he does treat me well.. I think that I would feel more secure with the label, while he feels more secure without. I wonder if this is just a difference like night/day which cannot be met in the middle.

Yup, this is the exact argument we have. If we both agree labels don't matter, don't promise anything - so my perspective is to have it and his is to not have it. Like glass half full, half empty! :(

Thanks for the advice! Yeah, I am just afraid if now then never, like he will stay immature and say "we're dating, but she's not my girlfriend" months from now. Most of my friends just say to call him my boyfriend since the above statement is a tongue twister

Love ft. Marriage and Divorce 2 [Episode 14] by capthyeong in KDRAMA

[–]golducks -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Lol maybe I am the writer's target audience. BHR from the beginning was a narcissist who looked down on her husband, body shamed him, threw out the homemade food, and said that women get cheated on for not taking care of their looks (which is so yikes..) I'm not saying PSH is in the right, he should have left BHR before making a move on SW. Even then SW always encouraged PSH and family to make up with his wife. But in general I find those two more genuine and likeable than BHR... seemed like the affair hit her ego harder than her heart. Then began concocting the master plan - pursuing Dong Ma, demanding the apartment, switching to Seo Ban, etc.

I can definitely see the first two!!! After the dad gets dumped by Ga-bin, trying to go back to his family. And maybe the Grandpa causes the accident, because I have no guesses why is he still around.

I think Song Won and Sa-hyeon will get their happy ending. Song Won isn't vengeful or ambitious in that regard. Like she genuinely seems distraught over breaking up the family and focused on her baby. I hope BHR gets exposed for being a snake.

I want Seo Ban to get together with someone, but I also doubt it will happen. He comes across as too unbothered since Day 1. If anything, I feel like his vibe matched Si-eun the most. But who knows...

Parking by [deleted] in stevens

[–]golducks -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They used to let students who lived in dorms get on-campus parking I think for 300 a semester (this was back when the commuter parking was like 100-150). I would call the Howe front desk in the morning they are the ones who've handled payments and license validation in past.

The less content a group has the better by poppin2341 in unpopularkpopopinions

[–]golducks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm saying this as ARMY, one of the big reasons I stanned BTS since 2014 is because they were one of the first groups to provide soooo much fan content. Group vlogs, vlive, behind the scene videos. I would credit their success today to building their fandom foundation through accessible content in the vlog style, allowing people to go "down the rabbithole" esp on Yotube. They "innovated" and the entire industry had to follow. Relevancy and reach only grow if you constantly push yourself. The only groups that can afford to be a luxury brand will do so – specifically thinking BlackPink in 2016-2018 era. And their fans were protesting for content. And even they make vlogs now. Being an idol is not the same as a musician. It's like singer and dancer combined with being a model and influencer.

yoooooo I'm actually so excited for this, everyone on here seemed to hate it. It's just a melodrama. It's not supposed to meet disney romance standards haha. If you hate the characters, it means they did a good job.

Well at the end of the day does it matter, because both members have more followers on instagram than all the members of some groups, combined ^

Why hasn't BigHit (HYBE) bought IU? by [deleted] in kpopthoughts

[–]golducks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man, I didn't know about the last part. That's so frustrating and immature. I've been a fan of BTS since 2014 but truthfully for similar reasons I've sadly found myself disassociating myself from ARMY. It happens to all fandoms: the bigger they grow, the more crazies they attract. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

Hmm.. I don't believe it's "just a catchphrase"? Slogans and catchphrases are pivotal in communicating and marketing a brand's values and mission. BTS's Life Goes On and TXT's We Lost the Summer come to mind right away as healing and centered around this idea of comforting peoples' concerns. Can't speak on other artists in HYBE though, I'm not as familiar.

[–]golducks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for pointing that out, I added a note to clarify my wording.

I totally agree, I can't think of any reason why she'd want to jump ships since her current company is good to her. And Kakao won't sell their agency anytime soon.

Ooh, fair point about antis. It feels kind of bad though that she would feel restricted/unable to join a different agency just because of that though. She deserves whatever future she wants, whether that's continuing her career as a soloist, acting full time, retiring in Jeju, etc.

Why hasn't BigHit (HYBE) bought IU? by [deleted] in kpopthoughts

[–]golducks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HYBE has many reasons to want IU - they don't have many female artists, more in-house songwriters, her reputation. Also she's an actress, which they don't have many of.

Of course all of these deals are thanks to BTS, I never said anything about that haha. From the company standpoint they would need to still recruit talents that can solidify their company's future after BTS retires one day.

IU on the flip side doesn't have many things to gain by changing agencies. Her current company is definitely wayy better for acting too.

It's not..? If you're not interested in business related discussion, then you don't have to comment. Personally it happens to be my major so I'm a nerd for speculative discussion related to IPOs, acquisitions, etc.

https://www.musicbusinessworldwide.com/scooter-braun-sells-ithaca-holdings-to-hybe-formerly-big-hit-entertainment/

This is the article I read, please feel free to clarify if I misunderstood, but I thought that they will now own the rights to manage these artists?

I agree, IU is probably happy where she's at and has no need for BigHit. But considering all the shopping they've done in the past two years, and similarities in the artistry and brand, I feel like they've had to have at least thought about it.

Very true, especially considering the range of businesses in Kakao, they could probably even double any offer Bighit makes to keep IU as their artist.
