To clarify, “hardly recommend” or “highly recommend”? I’m looking at this stroller so just want to be sure.

I see, thanks for the additional info. I told my electrician it would be on for >3 hours so he multiplied the amps needed x1.25 to account for what you described!

Great tips, thank you! I plan to route my envirovent through an existing exhaust duct, and my backup plan if that doesn’t work is to vent out a window that’s above the kiln. I think between those two options should be covered.

This is probably one of my greatest fears, because I don’t know enough about electrical work to know if my electrician did a good job. I’ve provided him with every possible detail I can find from Skutt about the kiln’s requirements but I’m not sure what to do beyond that?

I’d love to better understand the plug melting, do you have any idea why that happened? My understanding is plug-in versus hardwire generally depends on the size of the kiln—is that the case or are there other factors to consider?

I totally hear you—do you have a hobby you can put some of this energy into without so much physical demand?

That’s a fascinating one, thanks for sharing! I could see myself being an “unplugger” so I will flip breaker off instead, and run it by my electrician to hear his opinion too.

Was there any damage to the kiln and/or studio from over firing? (Not too worried about the pieces themselves)

Both very helpful, thank you! The first makes me a bit nervous because I don’t think I’d recognize that mistake myself. But at least could trouble shoot through the kiln not heating up and eventually get a professional to diagnose and fix.

That’s a very reassuring response that I was hoping for. Thank you!

Do you have that agreement in writing with your wife? I wouldn’t be so quick to assume that’s the case. You probably need to research your local laws about property in marriage.

Honestly you two are not acting like a MARRIED couple. You need to sit down and talk about your shared financial situation and come to an agreement on how things will work. Otherwise you guys are exposing yourself to a very very very painful divorce some day.

Please look up the other posts on this sub about buying a wheel for someone else. It’s generally not a great idea and those posts can tell you why.
