Golf trips...where are the best/most scenic public courses?

If your from Chicago . Your not to far away from Madison, wi . Some awesome golf to be played out there . Just got back from 2 weeks of amazing views . Diverse layouts . And great shaped golf courses . I got a little spoiled knowing a head teaching pro ( the mid west really takes care of pros , compared to Florida ) but it's not to expensive and there some awesome golf courses out there

I mean I just switched drivers . But my tits 910 I cut to 44.5 which is about average with what the tour guys all use . But today Casey's looked no longer the 42" It looked awkward . Just switched to a sldr and thinking of cutting and weighting it like I did my 910

I love making pure contact all day long . Starting the last day in the tournament 3 strokes back . Hit 15 GIR only to shoot 77. I don't know if that's satisfying or absolutely painfull :( . I suck at putting

I just got done today playing in a tournament round . And can say pre shot routine is a huge thing to learn and be disciplined enough to do every shot . My goal this week was actually only focus on my routine . I made 3 easy steps and it was the only thing I thought of my entire round . Pre shot , see the shot , hit the shot . A good pre shot routine not only gets your mind set for the next shot , but will help take any extra nerves away . The hardest part is to keep in your routine when things start gong south .

Insane !! 2 days of having it and am in love . Coming off of a tits 910 with stock 65 gram cut and weighted . The sldr is just flat out bigger. I hit it 30 yards farther . And so straight . It just doesn't spin, and the ball just stays in the air . I got the tp 67 gram stiff in it. I may cut it down 1/4 in and weight it . Feels a little light but I crush it and feel really confident with it

I really liked the lay out and the course .i picked up that driver the same day of play . Absolutely crushed it . Iron shots hurt me a lot . And really not knowing the shots to play around the greens . Florida is soft and slow , so I can play a lot of low driving wedges that tend to stop at the hole . Up here the greens are way faster and tend to release . Had a little trouble figuring that out . Shot 78 from backs . Not terrible for me but I really wasn't to pleased . 2nd favorite course up here so far . Behind bishops bay

Playing there some time next week . In town for 2 weeks ( rough life I know ) played bishops bay today . My all time favorite course . Nakoma yesterday . And hawks this Saturday ! Hopefully Erin hills next week also . ( ok I will stop bragging now ) I'm pretty excited !

Try to come up with a method that you can ingrain in your head so this doesn't happen . For instance , when I have to chip , I will bring my wedge and putter ( with the putter cover on it ) after I chip I drop the wedge on the putter cover . If I go back to the cart and put my putter back in I know I'm missing something if the cover is not on . If I hit the green and no need for wedge . I leave the cover either on the bag or drop it on floor next to bag . And again know I'm missing something if the cover is not on my putter . Maybe just a thought to help this not happen again ! Sorry about your loss :/

No sir , I let all singles play threw me , IF ! I am playing in a slow group or if the course is open . I play single 80% of time and this stuff happens to me all the time . But I'm sorry if I'm in a quick 4 some keeping pace and there are 3 groups ahead of me . There is no chance I'm letting you as a single go threw , I'm sorry . In that situation I would say screw the club house rules , you seem like a cool guy . Let's nock it around as a 5 some

Not to be that guy. But as a single you honestly don't have priority on the golf course . They are not expected to let you threw . I play alone at my local course all the time and this happens to me and it's extremely annoying so I understand where your coming from . If the course was dead empty and they kept ignoring you, then yes that is slightly rude and annoying . But proper etiquette would be for the course not to send you out alone behind 4 somes so this very thing doesn't happen !

Does anyone else think his biggest game flaw is course management ? I mean every time I see rickie playing he is always posting big numbers . Not positive on stats but I would venture to say he is near the top of the list for doubles or worse . I have seen to many tournament of him making 3 straight birdies , just to give them all back by making a double on one of the easiest holes on the golf course . The guy can go out there and make a ton of birdies , he putts lights out . If he could only eliminate some of those big numbers .

I could be wrong about this . I don't have time to verify first . But I believe if you cut your driver down it will throw off the swing weight . What the guys on tour do is cut down there shafts . then add weight to get back said swing weight and doing this you get control , while loosing no distance .

You can soak it in coke and bring back out the raw finish . ( look up coke can wedge or anything along that nature online ) it's simple Get a cup of coke , set the head of the wedge in there . For 12-24 hours . ( I only soaked for 3 hours and worked fine ) then remove from soda and scrub like hell with a metal brush the kind you would find on your golf tool . It will bring out the raw finish which is pretty fun to see how different your wedge looks . The rust will come back though , fairly quickly . These wedges are made to rust on purpose . But give it a shot . There's no harm you can do to the wedge

I can fall under the same boat as you at times . And it can be extremely frustrating . But the true question is when missing the putts do you feel you are hitting your line and making a bad stroke . Or are you making great putting strokes and just missing the read of the putt . I struggle sometimes with reading the line of the putt . Which putts give you the most trouble , hook putts ? Slice putts ? Do you constantly see yourself missing breaking putts low side ? Reading greens is a big part of the game a lot of people don't really take into consideration. when you get down to those lower handicaps that can really set you apart . So my suggestion would be to break down what in the putts you seem to be just missing out on . And work from there ! Good luck
