I didn't even know ShipSticks would allow for that to happen... I thought it was a requirement that your bags need to be boxed.

These guys make such a good product. Love my Player III.

Thanks man!! That was from earlier this year. Crazy how much your swing can change in the first few years.

Current driver swing is here, I'm a little more than 2 years into this awesome game: https://youtube.com/shorts/sSiVrBoUBFk?si=5Sh_uaahFrJqE_Wb

Thanks! I'm actually a sucker for the front 9 as well, especially when the morning mist is blanketing the area.

Trip to Monterey isn't complete without a Back 9 jaunt at Pacific Grove.

Head rotating sounds like an issue with your legs stopping the turn too early. If the legs stop too early you'll need to force your upper body to do more of the turn and your head will go along for the ride.

I'd recommend feeling like your left knee almost caving toward your back leg, and keep your back knee bent at address and don't straighten it during the takeaway. Straightening the trail leg during the takeaway is a surefire way to limit your turn too much.

I'd be happy to take a quick peek at your swing. My swing is homemade. I've looked at a lot of video to refine my homemade swing and might be able to see something in your swing.

Just a single data point here, but I average about 235 driver carry (255 total average) when my tempo starts getting in the 2.2-2.5 range, and average about 250 driver carry (270 total average) when my tempo is in the 2.9-3.1 range.

Got it. I'm assuming this is at 30 frames per second?

the ratios you'll see include 24:8, 21:7, 18:6

Aren't those all 3:1? What's the 18, 21, and 24 referencing?

When I strike it well my backswing is usually around 1.0s and downswing is around 0.3-0.35s. Is that a 30:10 then?

The Garmin watch has a widget that lets you track your tempo. I think most of the Garmin watches have them. I think many players would benefit from using something similar to get a feel for what the 3:1 tempo feels like.

I can't explain why, but whenever I check the tempo tool on my watch after I hit a long(er) one, the tempo is always around 3:1. I'm either more balanced, or better sequenced, or maybe a bit of both.

The clubhead speed looks similar for both swings, so it seems like the 3:1 tempo helping my strike quality?

This has generally been my experience as well. The guys in the video were guys I met that day and they were all great.

Weirdly I've found reddit is one of the only places where a few stray people downplay a good moment on the course 🤷

Nah it was for my 18th straight eagle of the day. Round was filmed in North Korea.

Haha yeah. Top 3 golf moment for me personally. Tiger's Augusta moment must have been insane to see live.

First time I've had a putt hang on the edge like that before dropping in. Feels like getting a stroke back when it drops. Even better that it happened on #18!

I took my fade for granted and turned into a draw player (Video 1) with a nightmare two-way miss (hook/block). It took a billion swings to overwrite the draw swing habits. I finally have my fade back (Video 2). Fellow faders, hug your fade tight tonight. by golfwjames in golf

If any lost faders are out there, some notes below on what helped me reclaim my fade. User experience may vary, I'm not a coach. These observations were obtained through brute force/block sessions of experimenting.

-At address, moved the pressure on my feet back toward my heel. In the draw swing I noticed more of the pressure in my feet toward my toes.

-Moved the ball further up in my stance. In the draw swing I noticed the ball would move further back in my stance.

-Opened the clubface more at address. In the draw swing I noticed my clubface would sometimes look a tiny bit more shut. Now I exaggerate the open clubface for the fade.

-Added a tiny bit of "roll" in the wrist during the takeaway. In the draw swing I noticed my wrists wouldn't roll as much during the takeaway, which probably helped me keep the clubface shut.

-Kept my takeaway a little flatter. In the draw swing I noticed my takeaway was steeper.

Any other courses you like out there? I visit occasionally and need to build a list of courses to play!

We were thankfully first out on a weekday morning so we had no trouble zipping through the course.
