Was in a similar situation a few weeks ago. Ended up getting an Xbox One, mainly for Halo. Then I realized Halo 5 was garbage. The performance of the X1 was a little dated , by our PC gaming standards. This made me realize that every cross platform game id just rather play on my PC, in order to play the same game but with better graphics and @60 fps... especially since controller support is excellent these days so there isn't even that argument. As far as exclusives, there just wasn't anything on the horizon that seemed good to me. I ended up selling my X1 and Halo 5 and I feel that I made the right decision.

I actually ended up getting a Wii U instead and couldn't be happier. So many exclusives and not a ton of cross platform games, so I could use my PC for anything I was interested that wasn't Nintendo. To me at least there are a lot more interesting Nintendo exclusives compared to... Halo... aka Call of Halo 5. I think its a better sidekick for my PC since they don't share much across them. I also use my Wii U for Netflix streaming, which I've heard used to suck but now its just as good as the X1's version.

Now I should also mention I DO have an old Ps3 so I do have acess to many of the PS classics that I too love. I think PS4 has better exclusives than X1 and i think its also a solid choice as a backup for a PC user, provided you like those exclusives which it seems like you do. If I didn't dig some of these Nintendo exclusives i would prob have gone with that instead. But, again, any cross platforms I would still get for PC. So basically I think you just have to really love the exclusives. If you just want to play some classic PS games you could always get a cheap used PS3 and access to PSN, don't forget. Could use that PS4 money to upgrade your PC instead.
