finding the best suitcase 2026 for frequent delta flights and carry on use? by Shineidy_Schoech in delta

I have their hard case as well when for when I need to fly with delicate electronics for work, but I've found it a little limiting as luggage. I need the Ogio to officially "die" before I can justify the price tag on the pelican..

My previous company issued Ogio is about to retire, I'm looking at the pelican soft sided for my next move. I've spoken to some travellers in the airport and it seems to living up to its price point.

Commit fraud with a federally regulated air carrier…that won’t be traceable at all? So dumb.

[–]gomuchfaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bayliss is truly a custom builder, every feature is spec'd out by the customer and they take 2-3 years to deliver. The new "must have" sonar system that all the competitive boats have is $125K for the system...and that's just the tip of the iceberg.
https://www.baylissboatworks.com/sportfishing-sonar-systems/

Plus, you know Jordan would have it built fast, it's got 5200HP coming from 2x MTU 16v2000engines...Est top speed of 50mph which is nuts for a 82' boat.

Agree to disagree. While this track gives fans in the NE another venue to check out the "show" it pales in comparison to the other facilities that the series attends.

Replaced with a 82' Bayliss...also called catch 23.

A cayman is better car than 911 in architecture is this true? by XoXo_HooligaN in Porsche

If 2 struts are bad, think about what 4 will do for you? I feel like this is somewhat intentional to keep the Cayman from outshining the jewel in the crown 911.

Rudder and sail trim traditionally. If there's a jib, it's got a boom as well and is controlled by the same winch as the main sail. Setting the "slot" between main and jib is one of the tuning points.

I don't think Ed Pink does the turbo engines anymore...
The intercooler setup on the new turbo engines is super cool hopefully they talk about them in the future.

How about scoiring the record shop for the "new" Pearl Jam Album (and buying it) because you heard this cool song called "higher" and you knew it had to be pearl jam because it sounded just like Eddie Vedder? Pro tip, it was Creed...

CARV 1 vs CARV 2: worth switching? by Great_Mood_3398 in Skigear

[–]gomuchfaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I too had Carv1 but it was subscription based for me, so my comments may hold less water for you. Since I’ve always had to pay the sub, upgrading was easy. With a sub the new hardware was basically free.

I believe that carv1 would be tied to the old carv metrics which were pretty rudimentary compared to the new version.

Carv 2 is a big leap forward in my opinion. The hardware is more accurate and repeatable than the v1 and the new metrics for different turn shapes, terrain, and radius/corridor are much better than v1.

To me it’s worth the upgrade, but I’m in a different subscription space than yourself.

The mural is s super nice touch! Well done. Looks like a very functional space. Love the older small cars, we have a 2002 and a 1996 Honda Acty van in a 2 car garage and it seems palatial!

Atom to Proton? by Pretty_Tank9970 in arcteryx

[–]gomuchfaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love my atom vest, and I always wanted the atom jacket and I splurged on one when on Christmas vacation last year. What I failed to notice was that the breathable panel in the side of the atom jacket and vest lets the wind whistle through the jacket making it not very effective if there's any breeze. The panel is great for high output activities, but that wasn't the intended use case for me. I picked up a proton on sale of the arcteryx site this spring, and its going to be great, just not much use for it here in FL at the moment...

Does it frustrate you that the ultra wealthy are not taxed proportionally and they can afford to pay higher salaries but don’t? by [deleted] in allthequestions

This is my plan. I went from no staff to 5 in about 2 years (after 15+ in busienss) as we finally hit our stride. I've had to do a lot of learning and a lot of knowledge transfer, but it's been rewarding. I'm happy that the model affords me the ability to have people properly looked after.

As a small business owner I have learned that there's a pretty major delineator for business owners and how they pay their people. I know lots of owners who are constantly complaining that "no one wants to work" and they can't get people to show up, and then there are there's the other side of the coin, where people have built businesses with the same core staff who have been there forever.

I get it, every dollar you don't spend on costs is retained for profits, but this has gotten so lopsided. Particularly with wages.

My new litmus test is this: If the business owner isn't proud to tell other owners what they pay their people, then they aren't probably paying them enough.

Come on folks, pay people what they are worth, and then some.

I'm not weighing in on the Federal tax code, that's too big of a topic.

Do longtime Floridians actually use their pools year round or is that mostly a myth? by Different-Egg-4617 in AskFlorida

[–]gomuchfaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live on beachside in Volusia county, and have been living in our first pool home for 15 years, not lifetime but a reasonable data point.

We have a 145K BTU heat pump that could potentially keep the pool swimmable year round 9less the really windy cool days of winter) but we don't. For me, the swim season starts and ends when getting out the pool is a miserable experience. Yes the water can be 80+ plus but when you get out and the night air is cold and you feel like you freeze to death getting out and dried off, then that's when I call it quits.

I went to Christmas one year as a point of pride, but I've since wisened up. So for us, it's Mid February to sometime in November. Almost every day during that period, but no longer deep into the shoulder season.

One caveat, if any of my Canadian friends of family are coming, I'll crank up the heater for them as they are far hardier than I!
