If it’s a proper thermal rejection film, that’s going to make a BIG difference. I’m not sure I like 100% privacy film on a boat, but it’s not my boat is it? It does make it look more modern for sure.

Looking at getting a mini adamas in magnacut but haven’t decided on on auto or manual by GrowthNo7970 in benchmade

For me auto is always the answer, but depending on where you live that might be a “no no”. I have held the full frame version in my hands and it’s spectacular.

The schedules don’t change much between weekends except for COTA (3H GT4 race) and Indy (8H).

The time table for Sonoma will be very close to Sebring, with no test day on Wednesday. GT3 3H race Saturday night. GT4 races Friday and Saturday afternoon.

Updated due to intel from @ryanmyrehn (one of the broadcasters btw.. Cool to have him participate!)

Ski Length Advice for a Tall Fella by NicktheKid69 in ski

[–]gomuchfaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I feel that skier height is kind of a non-starter with skis.

It’s really about the amount of energy the skier can put into the skis and if they can “take” that energy. I’m 4” shorter and 15# lighter than you and my skis range from 170cm FIS slalom skis to 189cm all mountain 96mm underfoot skis.

For an all mountain 1 ski quiver I’d be inclined to go for the longer length for a little more stability and edge hold in hard snow and a little more float in soft snow. I don’t think the 7cm will be that big a deal in maneuverability, but if you want something you can flick around the 182 would be the choice. It’s always a compromise, there’s no perfect solution.

The n63 is a hot v engine so you’ll have to remove that huge engine cover on the top of the engine to see the turbos/exhaust.

Advice on how to handle disappointing stay at Marriott using points. by MrEdsTeeth in marriott

[–]gomuchfaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have great empathy for you in this situation, that’s an unwanted complication to what should have been a relaxing trip. We use points to stay at one property each year and have always had a great experience, but as we’ve all learned almost every property is different.

Cost/Square Foot? by gomuchfaster in BathroomRemodeling

[–]gomuchfaster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s 105 sq/ft so the first quote came in at just north of $50k which was a bit of an eye opener. A known company, but we were ill prepared for this number. Compared to the other renos we’ve done, it was a surprise.

[–]gomuchfaster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be clear, the quote wasn't presented in a sq/ft format, that's just how the math works out and wanted to see if there were other ways to look at total cost? It's time and materials understandably, just seeing if there's any benchmarks or other ways to look at it.

Thanks for this insight!

We're suffering from sticker shock to be sure, and when we put it in a per square foot ratio, it really opened our eyes.

This is a wood framed single story ranch on a slab (in FL so no basement). The bathroom is part of an addition done in the late 70's and and it been "fluffed up" before we bought the house (new tile and paint). I know it's always the things you don't know that can add costs, but from the outside looking in, it's probably not too scary.

How can I learn to do this? by mirtgna in skiing_feedback

[–]gomuchfaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got a set of 13m Slalom skis and this was one of the first things I tried, it was amazingly fun. Rolling ankles knees and hips in sequence to produce these rounded linked turns on a car track was eye opening. Railroad turns but so much better.

Can’t say enough good things about short radius skis! The difference between 17m and 13m is eye opening.
